    Strc lcg kit?

Just wondering if anyone has used the strc lowering kit for the slash. Also does it help only on the streets and stuff or do you really notice a difference on the track. Thanks

Mine is not STRC but it is lcg sct and I barely tip it over compared to the slash chassis.. Im running an extended rustler.

I do everything. But in general extended rustler will do better and have handling.

You are extending the wheel base and lowering the center-of-gravity, so it should handle very nice on the track! Essentially, you are lowering the CG of the Slash, which many racers try to do for better handling.

I raced my LCG Slash for the first time last week and quite simply the car's handling was awesome.

The STRC LCG kit does more than lower the centre of gravity though.

Compared to a Rustler the battery is further forward which gives it a much better weight distribution. When I weighed the truck on some digital scales it came in at 60:40 rear/front distribution which is apparently an excellent balance for a rear driven 2WD race car. A stock Rustler is about 65:35.

The LCG kit also shortens the wheelbase of the stock Slash by 10mm to gives it the same wheelbase as a SC10 which makes it more nimble in the corners.

    Most definitely.

The only downside is you lose a lot of central ground clearance so it won't run over long grass like it used to.

I just added this lcog kit to my slash and I'm planning to race it in the novice class this spring.

Question is: do you think there is a weak spot where the rustler chassis mates to the front bulkhead? And what motor/esc combo do you use?

I don't see a weak spot there, what's your concern? I do use an aluminum bulkhead though as the stock one allows the inner hinge pins to bend even with the fiberglass tie bar. I also use STRC hardened steel locking hinge pins as these reduce friction in the suspension movement and never back out.

I'm currently running a Velineon with a SCT Sidewinder. That's with 13/54 gearing.

I also have the Protrac kit but don't rave about it though. My son has a similar set up to me in his LCG Raptor but without the Protrac kit. He runs stock rear arms, RPM front arms, SRT front tower and RPM rear tower and I think his car handles every bit as good as mine.

I don't have mine completed but it looks like there might be a weak spot where the lower chassis attaches to the bulkhead. Does the upper chassis also add strength that area? Granted, mine isn't fully assembled so maybe I'm not seeing the whole picture.

I have a STRC slash, it handles like a boss at the track. We were passing a few sc10's even.

I put it on my Slash and it's a completely diffrent truck. Other than tires, it's the best upgrade.
