Im still in the dark about how Duane is painting my Vette shell. all i know is colors. I think that will be the picture shell. Especially once i start driving with this one lol.

Thanks, i lack the ability to take the credit though. Buddy of mine does all my painting. if he gets any better im gonna have to start paying more than supplies haha.

Started on a new aspect of the build tonight. Going to try and graft an Ofna GTP2e bumper onto the ERBE chassis...



Just need to figure out the best way to do it.

So yeah... the Oilers/Avs game was a snoozer so i got to working on the bumper mount instead of screaming at the TV (as if they can hear me anyways)








Tapped 2 screws in stock bumper holes right into the skid plate, worked out they went right in on either side of the little block that covers the hinge pins.

Got the 4 holes from the 2 pieces of ERBE skid plate pieces lined up and used some longer screws.
Hoping 6 screws is enough. the 2 aren't counter sunk BUT they wont touch the ground thanks to the angle. The back of the bumper has a lot of wear before the screws start grinding.

Don't see any reason why it wont be. (just don't hit stuff, stupid haha)

Nice and snug fit for the Pf8-GT shell so there is no reason this wont work awesome with the Vette

i work across the road from great hobbies, but im not too far from hobby alley north. they both see me a lot haha

and yeah it is tough to find nice roads in edmonton. im in a newer area and even the main drag is already potholed and frost heaved. i usually just find parking lots to drive in.

gravel with very very minumal tar mixed into the gravel on the road, not premixed and not put on with paving equipment, they didnt even use an actual steam roller( actual name unkown), its so bad, its like driving on gravel but has rutts in it that cant be removed or fixed.

yeah i need to make a run into hobby alley west, blew rear diff, then the drive shaft screw backed out and cut the bulkheads in half, oh the join of running my truck

reworked the suspension today. figured with the added weight of that ofna gtp2e bumper it was sitting a tad low so i took out 1 of the 3 pushrod spacers in each shock. this works out much better, the car is sitting level now with travel that is virtually even to the gtp2e.




Only thing im seeing now that bugs me a little bit is the shell stretches out a bit over the bumper, dont think it will be a huge issue, just something i see.

Revisiting the SC8 body on this car. It actually fits better than the PF8GT shell does over the Ofna bumper.
I was pleasantly surprised. Thought it was going to be too short. but if fits great.




Just need to reattach the wing mount and get the height correct for this one now.

Little photo update. Ready to rock now aside from soldering the MMM to series for this one.
Now if the roads could just clean up a little bit and give me somewhere to drive this...





Trimmed the lip off the front of the shell, helps to minimize the visual side of the nose pointing up a bit i think.

Next up. Corvette Shell. At this point i think Duane is just screwing with me and not bringing it to work.

I have to decide if i want to modify the front body tower, it prevents the body from going any lower, and with this shell i could suck it right down if i wanted to, the wheels clear nicely. Have to see how it runs with the body up where its at.

If you decide to mod the front brace... It does suck the body down and if you plane on running that body over 60mph..WHICH WOULD BE A SHAME!!!!! Your going to need to mod it....BUT!!! you do have that beefy front bumper there.

Still gotta say though, as good as the vette looks, this SC8 body is just gonna be dirty on there. Probably be my primary driving around shell.



Its next in line for Duane, just need to think of a color combo/scheme ideas.
Although i do have the full SC8 Rockstar decal kit sitting here...

When i think rockstar, i think all black and a little yellow. Ehh

So maybe try and switch it up and use the rockstar yellow as a main color with black accents... maybe

whatever scheme you choose for the sc8, it will be great b/c that body is hot as is clear!

I'm thinking Yellow nose with splash trailing back to basically all black from the front of the doors back.
Something not too far off my Xt8's bulldog. It is all black but it looks like it ran into a bucket of lime green paint. Without the hard edges mind you.



Don't know if i could go all yellow with a bit of black.

Discovered 2 things tonight.
1- my fail-safe was not set correctly
2- Sweep racing slicks will burn holes in lino flooring when an RC car wedges its nose under the fridge at WOT.





Oh well i guess this means i can actually drive this one outside...

Sadface. Wasn't even trying to drive it, just had it turned on in the kitchen showing an uncle the car. Somehow turned the radio off (or the knob wasn't all the way on and twitched cutting signal not really sure what happened, i had a stunned look on my face) Car shot straight across the kitchen leaving rubber strips all the way from the living room to the fridge... Should have took pics before i cleaned up the strips rubber marks.

oh and one more thing

3- Mr Clean magic erasers really do work.

Now i just have to look into lino repair. lulz

i couldn't help but laugh about it either. i had just finished telling my uncle how it is geared for almost 60mph (theoretical) and BAM across the kitchen and into the fridge.

At least this allows me to use the vette shell as a driver. Wasn't planning on doing much more than using it as a show body lol.

Everyone knows as soon as i started driving it on the street it wouldn't look this pretty for long haha

btw i really think you need to go a little lower on the body because the wheel holes seem kind of big like this. can you run at a drift track with this setup or is it too big/fast?

im in the process of modifying a front tower to allow for a bit more drop on the body. All of my shells drop right to contact with the tower so if i lower it a bit by removing some of the stuff that isnt used since i have the foreward body posts the bodies will be able to sit lower.

As far as repair, not sure but it didnt actually tear the body anywhere, i took a good look at it last night, it is literally just a big dent but it wont pop back out.
