Thinking back, it is the only change I made that put a huge grin on my face.
Whatever it is I just typed... could be wrong.

The alu bulkheads and gearbox set. Good second place is getting a big block upgrade with MMP/4600.

one of my favorite was drilling holes next to the body mounts, threading some small thin wire into the holes, hot gluing that wire to the inside of the body and wrapping the other end (on the top side of the body) around the body pins. That way, when I took my pins out to take the body off, i didnt lose the pins. Two, when the car flipped over, and the pins got ripped out, they were still on the end of the "body pin tether"

Then I realized they already made something like that and they sold them at the hobby store......

....still my absolute favorite day with my Merv so far. I had a need, I came up with a solution and made it happen; to me, that is where I find the TRUE HOBBY of RC. I call that part....

    ...."See, Now you're Hobbyin'!!"

Another good one is to put velcro on the sides of the body, that way you don't even need to use body clips.

    Favorite mod? Tires.

Whole new car with different wheels/tires.

I've done everything though from dying, new motors and escs, servos, arms, rods, wheelie bar, wiring, braces, shocks, you name it. My favorite thing is WORKING on the car hah, I haven't driven it for a few days, it's just been sitting here getting stared at beside my computer. I have two fully charged lipos sitting in it... uh yi yi

Thanks everyone for the input. Just thought I would tell you
what I bought today. (even though I haven't had time to
    work on any of it)

    -Traxxas GTR shocks
-RPM axle carriers (until I find alu ones I like)
-Alu front and rear shock towers
    -Steel Hallow Balls
    -One chassis (already died black)
    -Two 3s 1800mah lipos

I have a question though. What gearing should I be at for these
3s lipos in parallel? Like 21/50??? Any input would be awesome.

RPM arms; have made this little booger SO much stronger

a close second, the big block 1/10th motor

it's hard to pick favorites on this car to be honest

a word on the RPM axle carriers; they suck RPM makes GREAT control arms, but they dropped the ball on the carriers for the 1/16... I ran mine once, and I've already put stock ones back on for now until I order some aluminum ones

I would rather get alu knuckles (+1 on RPM being awesome except for knuckles) instead of alu shock towers first.

Hey bleeder, how are you liking the Raconteur motor? I was thinking big block for my merv and the price tag is very tempting.

So whats the deal with the RPM knuckles? I was thinking about getting some from my new MERV, ordered it yesterday with a set of RPM control arms but ran out of money before I could order the knuckles.

the Tacon motor has been pretty good arc! for the price anyway. I'm sure more performance could be gotten out of a better motor, like a castle 4 pole, but so far I like it

the RPM carriers, for some reason the first time out with them, the spots where the bearings ride opened up and caused the bearings to wobble inside the carriers and cause more wheel wobble than the stock carriers! they also moved around so much the the little rubber ring that goes around the stub axle of the Traxxas CVDs started to rub against the inside of them...

Under hard use, they eventually pop the pillow ball out.
Also, the back bearing housing deforms after some time.
Some have issues with the small screws that hold tension against the pillow balls.

I have started to put my merv back together on my new chassis. I have ran into a question for you guys; after getting the trans, bulkheads, center shaft and drive shafts installed I noticed some cogging when trying to spin the spur gear. The bulkhead housings are new and I did shim them but the cogging is bugging me. Any thoughts on what it might be?
