brand new 4x4 pede

cuaght the bug of the pede's aboutt a month ago. i have a 2wd that is being rebuilt so i went out yesterday and bought a 4wd model. i absolutely love the truck. of course im wanting to do some udgrades/mods. looking for suggestions. im gonna post a couple of pics.

Of my 4 Traxxas cars, the 4x4 Pede was the one that gave me the least urge to upgrade. The stock Talons are the first things I would replace. Of course it depends on surface you are driving, but Trenchers are great tires who fit the Pede perfectly IMO.
I have a set of RPM arms laying around waiting for the stock ones to break.
Besides the tires, I replaced the shocks with big bores.

Lots of choices for more upgrades, but that depends on what you want.

i messed up by painting light to dark. its my first body so i figured it could be my basher body for my 2wd. that one will have no stock parts when i am done. any reccomendation on shocks?

Dude you should have finished the body with the dripping green paint you could have named her SWAMP THING. LOL Still looks great.

BTW if you bash that body and it starts cracking just fill the cracks with shoe-goo and cover the outside with the colored or printed duct tape. Not saying to do that now, but when it gets close to the end of its life.

I didnt know that until after the fact when i came back from running errands but it gave me some ideas to say the least. Is there any thing on the market to strip the paint off the bodies?

I didnt know the new telemetry radio came with the pede 4x4 ? Only thought u could buy it or came with new car

with all new traxxas models it comes with the base TQi remote. you still have to buy the docking plate, sensors, and all that.

Did a few upgrades this weekend. Kingz mounts and bushing. Slash rear bumper. Bought a Venom 3s. Put different pinion gear in. Man o man what a weekend. Also got a slash 4x4 ultimate. I wanna try my hand at SCR. I figured if it wasnt for me then i had the makings for a Slash 4x4 MT.

Man! Loving that body! Tires look great! I got the Kingz mount as well. Going to drive a few days then toss it on there. Did you have any problems getting it on? I am guessing that you probably didn't since this is not your first trip to the rodeo! lol Nice!

No problems at all. The only issue I had was the motor mount. I guess factory locktite and heating and cooling the bolts would not budge. Had to make notches for a flat head and get them out. And the only thing left good on the slipper clutch was the shaft itself.

Heres some pics with the Protrac pretty much installed with MIPs installed. STRC towers. Lunsfords hinge pins. I was shorted MIP set screw on rear. Its on the way. Got some Proline 17mm adapters today. Theres a little suprise behind that. I ended up putting a Slash 4x4 chassis in the middle for the extended body length and width. Used all MOJO hex screws and a STRC steering kit, driveshaft, motor mount and hubs. More to come in the next week or so. Stay tuned. Here are some pics of progress. Im gonna sell some stock parts to fund my wheels and tires....,

lol I do not understand you guys... You guys go out and buy a brand new $300 plus truck, then replace EVERYTHING on it... Why not just build it from scratch! Would probably cost less in the long run hahahaha

Not saying there is anything wrong with it. Not at all. Just saying some of you guys literally replace everything on the truck, or close enough to it that if you bought the "upgrades" plus the stuff you were not going to replace you would probably wind up spending less.

Great job so far! The truck is looking awesome.

I know the hobby by accident a few months ago, went with the 1/16 summit and regretted it. It's too small and hard to work with.
I love the modular design approach of the slash/stampede 4x4, so have one for each It's SOOOOOOOOO easy to work with compared to the scramble 1/14 trucks.

@hskb haha I know right. However, in my defense only two of the items I ordered were "upgrades" for existing parts. Heh, the bigger mistake I made was ordering stuff that did not fit (the motor heat sink) and stuff I did not need (the bearing adapaters). However, now I am thinking about changing over to a Slash tray... Oh the addiction!

The only reason I ordered brand-new because I wanted all the upgrades parts from the Platinum version. I sell the new VXL combo and keep the other parts for back-ups of the back-ups.

Nice. Can't wait to see it done. to run the Slash Chassis you just need the Chassis and the the driveshaft correct? and this would also allow you to run 1/8 motor ESC setups?

what make are those castor blocks? Love those STRC shock towers. I am seriously considering the STRC kit for my pede.

Nice. I will start saving my money up Want the STRC shock towers, rear carriers, c-block, and steering knuckles. I have RPM arms now. I think a bit of give in the arms, and nice solid hardware at the wheels should give me some longevity on the truck. And, they look sharp as ****.

I would like to install a castle set up in my pede4x4 with a slash chassis. I know and have read several will fit. I just want a set up that will run cooler than the Velineon set up running 3s lipo. Im gonna be running 54/17 gearing. May even drop down to a 52/17. Im not trying to make speed runs. Just some mild bashing and running circles around all the guys over here with the nitro maxx's and revos.Im thinking either 2200 or 2400 kv?

I run the CC MMP 2400kv combo in my P4de. Its a beast, tons of torque and power. They also have an MMP SCT Race Pro 2400 with a 5mm shaft. I run the MMM 2200 in my ERBE and EMBE and then are just right power houses. Could only image what it would be like in a P4de. LOL
