I've notice that my ESC is different than the other. mine seems to have the caps exposed and dont have a cooling line loop over the top of ESC. also my motor wire goes directly to the ESC, while some motors i see it with a connector more towards the motor.
My question is, is one better than the other?
heres mine:
and someones pic from here to see the difference

wow, and here i am thinking that mine is the old version due to the cooling design, LOL.
thanks for the info.
yup you have the newer one that traxxas improved when they had all those messed up esc's when the spartan first came out. thats an even better deal you got.![]()
Living life.
this is even better good news to me.
by tomorrow my aluminum cooling jacket and a pair of trim tabs will be here. i'm going to do the individual cooling (ESC/MOTOR) and i'm still trying to decide weither to get the dual water pick-up rudder or transom water pick-up.
The dual pick up rudder is faster and easier to install but the transom water pick up actually will provide more water flow.
And good deal on the boat....

I too have that model. Just out of curiosity - what were all the changes were made for the v2 boat?
What about those exposed capacitor tops? Surely bad if they get wet? Worth covering or a bad idea?
I spray my ESC's with liquid tape or plasti dip to help water proof them. Apart from spraying with a waterproofer of some sort I would recommend not covering the capacitors with anything that might hinder heat disapation.

Thanks again! I'll try that.
