Aonyone turn their slash 4x4 into a crawler or trail truck?

I bought a Axial scx10 trail honcho and enjoy it a lot, I was wondering if anyone has turned their slash 4x4 into a trail running truck or crawler? And include pics?

you can.....you just need new parts. like every part except the chassis. crawlers have a link suspension. the slash has an independent suspension. you would have to do a solid axle in the front and rear and its just not worth it.
slash 4x4 and a blast on steroids

I put a Novak 18.5 sensored motor with my SCT mmp ESC and it makes an awesome trail truck, speed wise.. I moved the shocks all the way in and softened them up with softer springs.. It rides like a summit now.. I am also running RpM wide crawler 2.2 wheels with axial wraith ripsaw tires. Using I concord pets raptor body..
Have it geared as low as i can. 11/54.. It still moves faster than my wraith at WOT and crawls like an ax10 crawler..
Only issue is the open diffs.. It spins 1 front and one rear quite often.. Gonna run some THICK diff fluid and try it again..

Jang at URC has built probably the best trail truck. Check out his ShapeShifter page.

all you really need to crawl is a sensored motor, locked diffs and crawler wheels and tires. Crawler tires and wheels are for more clearance. A widened track offered with the protrac kit will help too.

this is my protrac raptor with stock wheels and tires from my Wraith. I put them on for the heck of it. I would have to do some fender modifying to actually run

    It's shape #5. It's a Pede4x4 but same would apply to a Slash.

The Summit does a pretty darn good job at crawling.

TheJang actually did it with a slash 4x4 before doing the pede 4x4 shapeshifter thread. It is called chimera-a:

Not only is it a respectable trail truck:

It also is pretty darn fast:

Nice jack of all trades build.
The stampede chassis will do a little better crawling due to its shorter wheel base though...

I like what I did with my slash. I call it a "Crawler" but its really more of a trail truck.

Looks like fun, but what did you do to make it a trail truck?

Seeing the bones have been dug up, a couple years ago DMG used a Bomber cage and Slash 4x4 suspension components, called it a "Thug".

I think you could get a DB8 cage to fit without a lot of effort for a crawler or go fast rig.

Here's my take..... Click the pic, hit the play button. 30 seconds of rock garden fun....
