I like the 7955, 7950, or 7954. There are many other good choices.

How is the glitching with the 7954tg on the stock summit system? Do i need to run a cap or BEC?

Nevermind. its the tire itself. What are the odds i get 1 bad Stocker out of the box and 1 of 4 new Proline Premounts messed up right out of the bag... GRRRRRR.

^ still on the stock TQ/TQi radio?
On a positive note (i think) got the Summit dirtier today than i honestly think i have ever gotten any of my RC's lol
I try to keep them so clean, normally. Avoiding mud and wet conditions. Lunch break today i apparently didn't care.
Got quite the job ahead of me by comparison to the usual nothing more than dust cleanups with the air compressor.
Surely could have been much messier, but for me... yikes lol

Got my T-Bone Racing Arms guards and Chassis Skid plate installed last night.
Fat fingers strike again with the Arm Guards, i ended up removing each A-arm to do the install.
Fingers just wouldn't work to hole them in place and get the screws started.
Nice setup once all is said and done![]()

Close but no cigar. Picked up a spare set of shocks on the bay.
I spotted the difference before i even took them out of the ziplock bag.
Emailed the vendor and told them to check their stock. For the price i got these for im not going to cry about having to go to the LHS and buy a set of springs lol.

if you ever want to change the paint color to a solid color, plastic dip is a good choice, a friend of mind just did his fpv summit all black and it looks sharp! http://outfrontframes.com/wp/?p=246
^ that's interesting, i actually thought about picking up a clear shell and doing that. Not sure why, just something different i suppose.
Just bought a Hummer body for it too off another forum. Again just for something different.
(RAH)² (AH)³ + [ROMA (1+MA)] + (GA)² + (OOH)(LA)²
Flat black is something different? Maybe a decade into the past, but then it just meant you didn't have enough money to finish a real paint job. NOW it just means you are following the crowd. And a decade into the future you'll almost certainly wonder what you were thinking. Just my 2¢, but I think a clear shell maybe should have more care bestowed upon it.
Save the $8 worth of plastidip and put some low-resistance motor-ESC connectors on your ride. Now you've done something worthwhile.
Nevertheless, it's your truck, and happily you don't need to follow anybody's advice but your own.

Different from what i have, i was thinking of picking up an alternate color body from the bay but by the time i pay shipping it is gonna cost me $65-70, too much IMO.
motor esc connectors... im still debating going sensored BL on this. That said what do you recommend over the traxxas bullets?
clear shell, well simply put i have never done a paint job that turned out as planned. NEVER. plastidip is easy![]()
(RAH)² (AH)³ + [ROMA (1+MA)] + (GA)² + (OOH)(LA)²
Well plastic dip comes in many other colors not just black. Plus you can peel it off. It was just a idea. If you sprayed it on the inside it wouldn't be flat black lol.
I like the T-Bone skid plates...I may need to look at this...Nice.
Rock n Rolla !
I think its time to look at a single servo upgrade. They were very noisy today while i was driving over my nephew.
Side note,
Did you know, a 13 odd lb truck can very easily make a 35 lb kid fall over onto pillows behind him. and that conveniently tuns into some nice scale terrain in a pinchI have never heard the kid laughing like he was this afternoon.
See this is why im not supposed to have days off from work.
(RAH)² (AH)³ + [ROMA (1+MA)] + (GA)² + (OOH)(LA)²
I think eventually everyone has the servo issues, they are only 125lb servos. So 250lb of Tq total.
All it takes is a servo to jump a tooth 1 notch internally and they are no longer centered. Or the wheels bind up trying to crawl something while your wheel is supposed to be turned. Stock servos can and do sometimes work a long time without failure, but they are only good for so much. Throw some bigger/heavier tires on it (like i did) keep trying to crawl tough stuff, its bound to happen. I'm not gonna sit and pout that they are going, heck take them out and run them individually in something else they may work just fine.
To your point, the only real bonus for Lipo on the summit is runtime. you can get some huge 2s lipos to run. There are guys on here that on a pair of 8200's from SPC they are in low gear for an hour and a half or more. And if im not mistaken i think SPC makes a larger capacity 2s lipo now as well. You don't get anywhere near that on the stock NIMH.
Normally lipo gives you a nice speed boost as well. But the summit just isn't fast. Then again it isnt supposed to be
I think mine on stock gearing set up the way it is on 2x2s 5400mah 50c SPC might do 30mph flat out. If that.
Im just gonna sit and pout that a suitable and adequate single servo is going to cost me $100+ lol.

And now for what is quite possibly 2 of the worst cell phone pics i have ever taken...
New body. Picked this up off another forum last week. Been thinking about getting a non exo cage shell for a while didn't know what i wanted, saw this and thought that's just cool enough it will work

Well, there's also the reduction in weight, especially when factoring in capacity, the quicker charge cycles, the higher charging rates, cheaper prices, greater longevity...
Using SPC 8200s, 90 minutes in low gear even with a Dewalt 14.4V motor is actually pretty easy to do.
The 8000mAh 50C pack is the highest capacity 2S pack SPC currently offers.

ok you got me, i didnt even think about the weight. i try not to when it comes to the summit, they are a darn tank lol.
Heres some better pics. Oh and TIRE CHAINS! Just finished up my chains too.
Cant wait to go outside tomorrow and test these chains out![]()

Looks good!

Yeah when its winter up here, i have a hard time getting trucks dirty. Usually do a total tear down on everything to get em all shiny again
Summit is far from clean, i haven't done much as far as cleaning yet, But i haven't driving it very much at all since the T-bone set was installed. That makes it look clean. (hides a lot of grunge)
Bulkheads and carriers are a mess, Trenchers and the Stock body are filthy.

I want to get a set of the T-Bone skids for my Summit...look good.
Rock n Rolla !
They are really nice, but IMO they need a better mounting procedure for the A-arm pieces.
What a Pain. I ended up having to remove the lower arms to get these installed.
Maybe a fat finger issue, but there was NO WAY i was getting them locked down without taking the arms off.

Where did you get those T-Bone skid plates from mate?? I can't find them on eBay.

weirdest darn thing just happened. i pick my summit up the same way all the time. by the front and rear bumpers. Just went to move the summit for a picture and the front bumper ring snapped. Not cold (its inside and has been inside all day). Very strange. Clean break right beside where the bumper mount posts are.
Conveniently i have a spare set, but still. odd...

front summit peice is essentially a rear Revo correct? RPM # 80872 ?
edit nevermind, they do have summit specific, just not at my LHS

I am on holidays now until the new year, go back to work on the 2nd of Jan. I really want to go outside and drive my summit, but it is freaking cold. Supposed to be highs of only the mid -20's *C for the next week. Booerns!!
Oh well, my Dusty Cover isn't here yet anyways.

Thats what im hoping for. Im expecting to have some extra cleanup and bearing maintenance but if i can keep the business end of the chassis clean, that's making it even more enjoyable.

Trying out a body on the summit. Works pretty good IMO considering it was made for the 2.5 chassis Revo.
