I just picked up a t-maxx today from a yard sale for forty bucks looks like it has less then a couple of hours on it..also it has the old crystal radio which i will be replacing w/ a 2.4 ghz..Is this some kind of new record for best deal ever on a t-maxxx!![]()
If only they were all that good a deal![]()
Nice job on the pick. Always trying to find a deal like that.
I'll give you $50 for it. How does a $10 profit sound![]()
Is it the extended chassis? Can you show pics. I'll give you 51 dollars for it.
Cars: erevo vxl, 1/16 summit, stampede vxl, tmaxx
I'l give $51.50 for it! LOL! Nice find, I wish I could find T maxx's that cheap...
Is owning 27 RC's too many? No way!

Bash, Crash, Upgrade, Repeat..
if it runs, good deal.
I'm not krazy. My mother had me tested.
I got one better. 2 tmaxx 2.5r's rtr for 150 I have personally heard them run. just gotta have the cash to buy them.
I would love to post pics but it says i may NOT post attachments for whatever reason..I'm pretty sure it's the short chassis because of how old skool the big dorky radio looks that came with it, plus all the servos are black and no opti-drive.

That's a 40 dollar bill right there!
Big Air Don't Care
Okay, so i went through the whole truck (all $40 of it), had to take apart and rebuild the engine it was locked right up at tdc..Everthing else looks great (besides needing a new filter boot and carb boot..oh, and new servo's classic ones are straight garbage, i already have a power hd one the way to replace the weak steering servo.), engine fired right up and that is when i noticed two things;
1.) low speed idle adjustment is hard to get to.
2.) throttle linkage is kinda wack.
Are there fixes for this? maybe 2 birds w/ 1 stone type?

hey bud i bet i can beat you my fathers an auto mechanic and the customer gave me a e-maxx ,FOR FREE!
once you get the tune right, your idle speed will drop to where it needs to be. take a bit of time...patience buddy.
Congrats on the score
"RED"
ehhh emaxx is kool but the tmaxx has the whole expirience( the smells and sounds no electric can produce)
Sounds like I need to hit more yard sales LOL
1) you need either a 4 inch long 1/8in tip screwdriver or get rid of the stock tank & drop an Ofna Violator tank on it.
http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...?&I=LXHTA0&P=7
2)Get qty6 of 5x8x2.5mm bearings, 2 for the throttle bellcrank & 4 for your steering bellcrank to get rid of the little plastic bushings.
http://avidrc.com/product/8/metric-b...-bearings.html
Then adjust the linkage correctly.
AvidRC.com for bearings, most of them are $1 each so stock up on commonly replaced bearings, clutch bell/wheel bearings & such.
Look out for the tree/crunch!
LiPo? Naw NITRO!!
Wildman this is exactly what i was looking for! Thank you so much, I owe you one..After a $90 trip to the LHS today i should have it tip-top, other the then silly plastic bushings i bought today being replaced by some bearings and the fuel tank looks like a must as well..I have the screw driver but it is still a pinma! $40 truck is more like a $130 truck now and that doesn't even include the radio or a body, ah well, still in the black!
Wildman whats with the xtra long orange tubing?where is it leading to ???
never mind i took a closer look. g i feel so dumb.great looking truck tho
you had the record but my old neighbor bought a running good condition one at a garage sale for $10 from a lady who thought it was a walmart rc truck
