Primarily run 2 trucks on 2s batteries, rarely breaks 145deg , works excellent.

I'd start with a 18/54 pinion combo and go up by 2's if you want more speed

Castle and some guys on here were the ones who talked me into the MMM/2650 2s combo

Why buying the Monster motor and only run at 2S? The 2400kv motor can happily run with 4S.
I run 3s gearing 23/50 with my 2400kv now, and just order 2 2s-50C LiPo batteries to try 4S.
I also want the 2650kv or 2200kv, but I need to push my 2400kv systems to the limit first

3s is the only thing i have tried so far and love it. More power than you can put to the ground! I cant imagine 4s, mines widened 2-3 inches and its still difficult to use all the 3s punch. You should be happy with it.
( I run 12/54 and i still hit 178degrees F on a 105 degree day)
