    interference problem?

i just picked up a jato 3.3 and it interferes with my neighbors jato. i really want to race him! is there any way to make them work together without buying a new remote/reciever?

Do you have the older AM radio w/crystals? If so, you need to buy a different color/frequency.

Crystals are silver/chrome in color and have a colored tag on them. There is one in the receiver and one in the radio and they both need to be the same color/frequency. Takes about 15 seconds to change both of them out.

Nope, not needed, but the TQi is a great TX and not expensive. 2.4g is much better many things can cause interferance with those crystals, the Jato needs a stong connection and long range.

+1! It doesn't take long to go far at 65MPH.

    Range test it.

Have a buddy hold the truck and walk away messing with the controlls in a controlled sequince. Full steering motion then full throttle brake motion. See how far it goes. I suggest controlled sequince so interferance twitching servos wont be misstook.

But check the spot you run at to see if anything there shortens the range & make sure you have control.

The longest range you can get is by using a high quality FM radio. this is my experience since i used many types of radios. the best quality 2.4Ghz radio won't give you better range than a good quality FM one.
it's cheaper i guess, but you'll get annoyed by it's long Trx antenna.
