Lipo battery's availible in Canada ?

Hi,

I'm wondering if any of you guys can tell me brands of lipo battery's availible in Canada.
I currenlty have an onyx 25c 4000 mah 2s hard cased battery.
I want something that can power my trx sl2sh mmp 3800. I want 40c +

The three lipo brands I have seen here in Canada are..
Traxxas-only availible at 25c and soft case. Plus is castle says these are the only 25c battery's that work with the 3800

Onyx- they are hardcased but not availible in higher c ratings

Venom- Ive heard the connectors aren't that good and the swell up?!?
Plus is there availible in many c ratings and are hardcased

These are the only three brands I know of. Non meet my expectations. I can't order from online hobby stores as I'm only 13 and I don't think my parents would like that LOL

look at thunderpower lipos some stores carry them not sure if canada would though can try. they carry some real high C rated lipos. I would have said SMC but since you cant order its a no go there.

Btw my expectations are ..
5000mah, hard cased, 40c + , reliable company and battery, not to pricy (115$)

What about spc I've always wanted one. Think my LHS could special order it?

they may be able to order it for you.

I use to see smc at spc but now they have their site up and i found it and prices are reasonable for their lipos that's for sure. I use to see the 9200 50c 2s lipo for 50-60 now that was a nice price on sale. I didnt know they sell SMC in lhs's interesting. compared to their site prices are they more?

That would be awsome. Then I could buy like 3 spcs for the price of a venom

some lhs's do order just ask them they may just charge you the actual cost for it or may charge a small fee for ordering it for you either way it doesnt hurt to ask

That's what I'm thinking.. What lipos are the best? I'm thinking spc, gens ace, and onyx for cheaper reliable performance packs? I got my onyx for half the price of the traxxas lipo with same specs.

Is there a reason you want hard cased LiPo's?
What RC is this battery going in?

give a try to spc and smc lipos then gensace if needed. since you cant order your self then i would just ask the lhs see if they can order from those 2 places spc or smc-racing.

Hard case has nothing to do with the battery swelling.

Exactly.
If the battery is going to swell, it does not care what case it is in.

True true I like the hard case but the fact that you see the early signs of puffing up dont seem too ideal to me. I like that if you crash they hold up. I have a emaxx with soft case lipos and hold up great. if needed I could use velcro to secure better holding.

It was also for crashes.. Swelling happens when you crash right? I know overcharging or discharging is the same

nope swelling doesnt happen when crashes happen its more physical damage if it hits hard enough but i've seen some soft case lipos hold up good.
