i have a cm36 9000kv big block and thinking of trying it out in my second merv.
question i have these plates and motor mounts laying around and looks like they will work but if the motor plate is a 7380 why is it marked 7075?![]()
Whats the gearing you'll be using.
37/45 might be to high?
3s?
I did the speed calculator with my small foams on 3s won't need much! If it can pull 8500 kv a 22/45 equals 87.1 not that it would pull that
i was thinking that's what it was but wasn't sure thanks
So I am thinking of trying the 9000 on 3 cell. With our little batteries the voltage will drop below 3.7v and an rpm below 99,900. Does that sound crazy or what!
You will have to keep this thread constantly updated because I am extremely interested in this project!![]()
Yep. I had to order another mmp to handle the power but I will post pics when it get rolling. Still haven't tested my neu 1112 1/y much!
Has anyone checked this out?

Ghostbuster is selling a Bb merv in the marketplace
It's got that same mount
Decent price for all that upgrades.
i think 9000kv is just rediculous
no way will that be usuable
We will see!
No big deal if it doesn't. Motor only cost 60 brand new!
And I have a 6000kv ,stock 4000kv and the neu 1110 laying around that will. Thanks for the thought jimbo
It'll be usable, just need a huge space, some ballast upfront, lowering and for gods sake turn the steering epa way down. Either way I bet it'll sound beastly spinning up that many rpms.

with aerodynamic drag and battery size limiting it it will only go so fast but pretty fast!
7075 is also the part number of the 380 size Titan motor. Maybe that has something to do with it.
Nobody is born with experience
i picked up the hr setup just in case . 7075 didn't make sense but it is bigger than my stock 380 plate
The part that says 7075 is 7075 for the alloy. It is part number TRA7380 and it's the mount that comes with the Titan 550. It's the Traxxas big block mount - much cleaner/prettier than the tenbol imo.
7075 is some high quality, high strength aluminum, just what you want for a motor plate. TRX uses some 7075, and 6061 alloy in some hop ups for the Jato and some other RCs, both high grade, strong and light.
Just funny they put 7075 and not the part number!
I will compare the stock plate and hr setup to see what looks best
The stock plate is 6061 aluminum which is softer and less ridged, that's why I don't like the idea of the Tenbol mount using the stock plate with the extra weight of a big block. The Traxxas big block mount is also thicker which is even better.
***You Build It ...I'll Jump It!!!*** OS .18 TZ; Trinity Pipe; HCR Titanium Skid Plates & Bumpers; Futaba S9450 Throttle Servo; Airtronics 94358Z Steering Servo; RPM A-arms & Knuckles; FOC; Lunsford Titanium Hinge Pins,Turnbuckles, Push Rods & Rocker Posts; New Era Roll Bar & Engine Mount; Proline Mashers on Velocity Rims.
You mean the stock 380 mount is 6061
I have th HR mount for my big block. Haven't ran into any issues yet. Only have ran two packs through with it.
Oh and it looks great on the truck too! Lol
Thats good.
What do the two red things do?
Yeah I always wondered about that too. It does look awesome though!
Heat sinks I believe.
Revo MM CC2200
Rusty MMP CC3800
Merv SV2 CC5700
I will check it out when it comes in!
Yes they are heatsink. You can remove them just held on by screws.
Thanks for the info!
I think they put the alloy grade as a marketable detail. Bikes do it, my Norco is 6061 and lite as a feather. 7075 T6 is top grade strong and light, awesome stuff, the part number is just that a part number, just imagine they stuffed the part number on each part as bold, the truck would look retarded IMO. They write it because it goes unseen if they don't and it is a point of importance. 7075 is probably overkill, but not a bad place for a lil overkill.
when i was searching it all i came up with was 380 titan as peter said didn't make sense!
If you want i can take some pictures of mine mounted up when i get home from work in a couple hours..just in the middle of cleaning all my wires up.
sounds good ! thanks
Here's some pics.

Nice! Thanks. Some pics I saw looked like springs!
No prob. yea it's not like it really needs them tho. even with 32/45 it bearly gets warm. yea i'm just waiting for a new chassis, to move everything around. with that mount it has the motor pretty centered in the chassis and i'd like to get the rx back in a enclosed box..
I don't really plan on getting mine wet! But would be nice!
yea I don't really plan on it either, But that's the whole reason i got my sand paw's to run it across my pond...lol...have a small wager with one of my friends. But he's got kinda worried now with some of the videos I have showed him of the icelandic hill climb trucks that they run across water.....
that will be cool to see. don't forget to record it!
Bomber, look up "Jesus Revo" on youtube. That guy did a water skipping video with sand paws, pretty good length too. Film it when you do it.
