Ive had an itch for a new hobby and always thought why not get an RC car...
so i went to my local hobby shop and picked up a slash and a few goodies.
i got a set of proline thrashers and new wheels. which ill take a picture of on the car later.
a ford raptor body with some paint. (candy apple green, and gun metal.)
a new 5000 nimh batt from onyx, which im getting 35 minutes of bashing out of easily.
with a new batt i got a radiant ascend charger.
-whats next
1. front set off wheels and tires.
2. big bore shocks even though tweaking the stock shocks with a combo of toe and camber made it stick to the ground like glue.
3. vxl brushless and lipo.
4. new body with a set of paddles so i can take to glamis and pismo when i go riding.

Nice body
I suggest buying a 2.4ghz remote and reciever too
Slash 2wd, Slash 4x4, 30th digger, Rustler VXL
When at a track or with other people running there rc cars.
I suggest the TQi or better radio
Try futoba
It also increases your radio frequency
Quite expensive upgrade so don't worry about it until your have problems

Yep no more poking holes in your body
But spectrum isn't as good as futoba that's my preference..

I have two Spektrum Radios and I love them. The DX3S is pretty nice for the price. I also have a DX3E for my wife or friends to use. 2.4ghz is the way to go for sure.
Slash BL-Pede-E 4Tec-FLM EMAXX-Wraith-AX-10-SCX-10
Check out the Fly Sky FS-GT3B if you want 2.4 ghz on a budget.
I run a fly sky,a spectrum,and a traxxas 2.4.On a short coarse there all fine.
If you want to fly?Now you want to spend some cash on a good system..
Any of the first three are good for cars and trucks,in fact my fly sky,imo at $40 bucks,is probably my favored unit.

Really though the tqi is my favourite when paired with the tqi docking base.
It's so easy to adjust!
The reason I don't like spectrum is because they don't have the best range...
And for there price they better be.

Well what are you waiting for!!
You can buy the docking base down the road.

just curious but my spectrum was $49 from my lhs,now I must admit i have never tried to find the range on it.But on every indoor, and out door track,I have ever run on,range has never been an issue with it[IMG][/IMG]This was the only mod i made ,due to the short receiver antenna.
