    Castle 1415 2400kv!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    You can get it cheap from stripped Funny Car.

    I run it on 3s and 4s with the same esc as you (hw sc-wp8) and it really rocks dude

    You have to do a little dremel job on the chassis though.

    Its colored blue by traxxas so its a waterproof?

    Sent from my SGH-I337M using Tapatalk

    Velineon 3500 is a 3500kv motor
    Castle 1415 is a 2400kv motor

    So which of these two will give my p4de more speed and more power or torque.... and how?
    :what::what:
    Well i know that 2400 will. But i want to know how? Can somebody explain how this things work?

    First of all it's a 4 pole, Velineon is a 2 pole and it is much longer too. Check out my foto:

    This Motor is strong enough for moving around my Summit at about double the speed as the titan 775 without any heat issues (stock gearing 4s Lipo). I had it installed for a couple of runs. Now it is back in my 4s powered Stampede 4x4 geared for about 45 mph for some serious bashing.

    Thanks dude..... and thanks for the photo. I can use it for future reference on how to make them fit with my p4de.

    So a 4pole motor is like 4cylinder engine. Even tho its not a high speed engine it can produce high torque.... so in that case you can gear the pinion higher. That makes the truck faster? Am i right?

    The lower the KV the motor has the higher you can gear.

    But also you need more voltage to get a good performance. The Castle 1415 2400kv is good for 3s and 4s but not for 2s eg.

    Ok. But 2pole compare to 4pole? 2pole will produce more heat if run with higher pinion than 4pole?

    4 pole means there's 4 magnets on the shaft inside the motor

    Yup. Iknow. But 4pole more magnets more electromagnet reaction and more torque? More torque that can spin bigger pinion but will produce less heat because it made for torque?

    Bigger pinion is not made for torque it's made for more top speed equals more amps which will run hotter.

    Ok. So 2400 kv motor 4pole will run hotter with high pinion than a 3500kv motor 2pole on normal gearing? So why 2400 can run faster? Cooler?and gives more torque than 3500?

    2400kv don't really need a higher pinion to go fast because u can run a higher cell battery like a 3s or 4s which is crazy power.

    I am using 3s lipo on my p4de everytime. So which will be faster?
    3500kv or 2400kv? Lets say running with stock gearing?

    2400kv stock gears with a good 3s lipo should be faster. 4s would be uncontrollable crazy fast.

    The letters kV stand for the the RPM of your motor per volt with no load.

    Hmmmm. Ok. So
    2400kv x 11.1 =26640
    3500kv x 11.1 =38850

    2400kv will run way cooler and the ability to run 4s. U could up the pinion a few teeth and still run cool, the 3500kv is gonna run hot on 3s after 10-15 mins usually.

    Yup. But the calculation shows that 3500 can make higher rpm than 2400. So how 2400 can go faster if it can only make less rpm?

    Either a 4 cell lipo or a higher tooth pinion there's a guy on here running a 23t pinion with a 2400kv. U would burn the motor if it was the 3500kv with that size of pinion. There's a thread about it

    3500x11.1=38850
    2400x14.8=35520

    Still 3500kv motor will make higher rpm with 3s than 2400kv motor on 4s.

    So to make this 2400kv motor faster than 3500kv motor it really needs a higher pinion? Am i right?

    Ok but the 3500kv can't handle higher pinion teeth that the 2400kv can which means the 2400kv motor will run faster.

    So its normal for 2400kv to motor to use higher pinion. And temp wont be that much issue compare to 3500kv?

    And 3500kv motor is a high speed motor. But Less torque than 2400kv. It can go faster but needs to stay on low pinion to produce higher rpm. But highspeed running makes its so hot?

    Don't be fooled by Kv ratings. They tell nothing about power. They say what rpm your motor wants to run per volt, not if it will.

    Under load everything changes. You need power to make those rpm when it's working to get your car ahead.
    The 3500 compared with the 2400 will make more rpm per volt, but it's not even close as powerful. To transfer the power into speed in your car, you need the right gearing. The 2400 can handle a bigger poinion/smaller spur than the 3500.

    Thanks..... 2400kv motor is really the way to go. It has speed and torque at thesame time that will push the truck much more than stock motor with lower temp.

    Except for risk of rusted bearings, most brushless motors are waterproof.
