Need help diagnosing problem. The rear diff doesn't lock and every once in a while it clicks. Should I just rebuild it?
The first step is to tear it down to see what is wrong.
Whatever it is I just typed... could be wrong.
Could unhook the servo and see if the locker is moving freely.Clickin sound is not usually a good sign.
Sent using lipo power
Mountains cant stop me
they have tried
Just finished taking it apart, the gears for the locker were stripped
The "castle" teeth in the diff or the gears for the servo for the locker?
Whatever it is I just typed... could be wrong.
Sorry it took so long to post back I have been busy. The locker was fine. It was the castle gears inside the diff.
Or are they spider gears?
The wee gears in the diff cup?
Whatever it is I just typed... could be wrong.
Yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah
I heard of a guy breaking those spider gears from over-tightening the slipper clutch lol. I have torn into my diffs to diagnose a diff issue just to find out it was the arm between the servo and the diff.![]()
PM me for help converting your Summit to brushless
It's a pain to do it took 3 days. I took it apart and forgot how to put it back together
3 days? I can get it out, clean it, pack it, and reassemble in less than an hour.
