Had an awesome time with my Summit in the snow. Got some good GoPro Video that should be up by tonight, and I only managed to rust a few screws. It was a good weekend. I will post up those videos tonight, but though I would just let you guys know. My steering being sluggish though is really bugging me, so I might consider Singe Servo Steering (I still have stock).

Can't wait to see vids, glad it was fun.
Oh interested in hearing how tires fared to.
Don't take it out unless your going to use it.
Awesome! Can't wait to see too!
Hey Guys! I couldn't get them to upload to my computer last night for some reason. I am working hard to get them put together though, so they should be done after school today. Here is a picture I got of it, but it is with a GoPro so it isn't as good as an actual picture camera would be. Videos should be done by today after school though.

Awesome picture! I like the fish-eye effect.

Ya. The GoPro I have has a panoramic lens on it, and the pictures or video usually turn out looking like this. I think it is pretty neat though. Also, the tires worked fairly good for being stock tires. From turning real hard on the ice and my stock plastic beadlocks being sharp in some spots, I have a couple tears on the side walls of the tires, but those can be super glued. I will post pictures of the tears later today. Other than those few tears, the tires worked amazing in the snow.

About those tears -- were you ballooning the tires (spinning them really fast?). I've shredded three stock tires this winter on my E-Maxx, always when the tire loses contact with the snow/ice and spins too fast. Rrrip!
I ordered Trenchers and Pro-Line beadlocks to hopefully end the problem. I think some Gorilla tape will help too. We'll see.

Ballooning was probably a factor of the tears. I don't know exactly what caused them, but sharp edged beadlocks, cold weather, drifting with soft tires, and ballooning are all possible factors.

They make metal beadlocks I think, right? Those wouldn't be bad to own!

Here is a quick video of the Summit at Winter Camp. There was 60" of snow there. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=phxdFepxecg

nice vid. thanks for posting.
I'm not krazy. My mother had me tested.
Your Welcome. I am trying to get a video that isn't FPV cause it can get a little boring only watching in that perspective. Oh well, I work with what I got so that is what counts!

Tires will usually balloon and tear due to open diffs. Of course you always want to bash with the diffs unlocked, but when one wheel gets power, it spins twice as fast as usual, and the stock tires can't handle full speed spinning x2 without a high risk of tear/over-ballooning.
That fish-eye lense effect is SO GoPro, but it's even more SO "outdoor in the snow" as just about every single skiing or snowboarding or adventurous activity is filmed with the "skater" fish eye effect! Haha, as soon as you see it in a video you know there's somethin' going on! =)
Looking forward to seeing what you got up to Jacob!
nice vid, i wonder how many people got sick watching that lol???? not me!!!
