What is the largest lipo battery you can run without burning up the stock motor?
Also does the burst and discharge rate have anything to do with it? I would like to run the largest mAH possible
the largest is 2500mah 2s lipo or you could get 2200mah 3s lipo both from spc
With great brushless comes great responsibility.
Which would be better? I have been told 3s makes the car faster. Of course I'm a noob so I have no clue.
yes 3s will make your car faster but you will end up with more broken parts

Alright. Thank you for your help
Could you link me to the 3s? Can't seem to find it
I thought the 1500mah was the only 3s that fit.
Sent using 8.4 volts of NiMH power!
To the men and women of the US military, thank you
I suggest 3S for speed runs only... especially if you have the stock ESC.
When it comes to batteries; mAh and discharge C will have very little effect in burning up your electronics... it is voltage that will kill them... mAh does have a slight effect due to run time.
Whatever it is I just typed... could be wrong.
So what is the correct size of 3s?
I have a pair of 1800mAh 20C that I run in parallel... not for run time, but for double the available amperage.

Forgot to mention I have deans connectors on it.
What do the Deans have to do with it??
I have never gotten through a full set of 3S without overheating.

In this hobby it is almost necessary to know how to solder on a connector to a battery. I have never worked with Deans connectors, but I imagine that it is just as easy as soldering any other connector I have. The equipment can be bought for less than $15-20 shipped to most doors.
With Deans you would then need solder and shrink tubing... with TRX, you would only need solder.
Limiting your battery selection to only those that come with the connector you want is going to reduce the quantity you can chose between from hundreds to just a few.

Wasnt aware that you could just add your own
Yup... it takes some practice, but it is relatively easy to do.

There are also adapters out there aswell![]()
Soldering connectors does come in handy I know I have soldered quite a few in then last few months and resoldered some factory installed connectors on esc's and batteries all traxxas though.
Living life.
Ive run 3S with the stock electronics on many different traxxas 1/16 brushless vehicles and it always results in ALOT of heat. Like Jimmie said though, you can run 2S in parallel (one pack in each side of the car with a traxxas parallel connector) and get double the run time AND double the amperage... im not sure the amps are a big issue with the stock power system. But if youever upgrade to a castle system the difference is almost unbelievable.
What is this upgrade?
Didn't mention I have a y connector and I was referring to the largest you can run in parallel
in 3s 1800 is the biggest and 2s 2500 spc are the biggest
I have been running 3s lipos in my KB for a while with a smaller pinion gear (21) and do not have any overheating issues. Car is just as fast if not faster than the 2s with the 28 tooth.
