New E Maxx Lipo Questions

I have a E Maxx 3903 that i upgraded to the mamba monster 2200kv combo. Just today i bought a traxxas 3s lipo. I was wondering how it would run with just one 3s pack? If it wont run good id buy another pack. Im trying to decide between 5s and 6s if 3s isnt any good.

Mine is wired in series and wont even turn on without two
I would start with 4s then later 5s and once in a while do 6s

there is a way to use only 1 3s lipo you have to use a connector and pretty much cap off the other connector but trust me it wont run good with just 1 3s lipo. i have ran mine on 2s before and its slow and i mean SLOW. takes off fine but top end its boring fast only works for me when i want to rock crawl that what i use it for on mine since my esc that i use is not wired in series. 4s is more suited as %) (50) LOL said.

Okay so now I know that 3s won't work. Should I run 5s or 6s is the next question.

I would only after a few upgrades. You will sooner or later break parts and strip diffs with 6s

If your going gonna run 4s then I would say 5s but easy on throttle till you upgrade parts at least.

I run 4s and I love the all around power. I tried 6s a few times and its crazy fast. Part things start to brake on 6s. Get 2 2s and run them in series I like it.

We'll just yesterday I bought a traxxas 3s 5000 Mah lipo for only $50 new. So my options are either 5s or 6s. I'm leaning towards 5s because I don't want Everthing to start falling apart.

If you have a 3s, how are you going to run 5s? I don't think you can run a 3s and 2s in series, or can you??

yes you can thats why the esc's say 2s-6s not 2s, 4s, 6s ? lol. you have to make sure the voltage is the same on both lipos though.

Same voltage? or same mah? Cause if the voltage has to be the same, you can't use 3s and 2s (11.1V and 7.4V is not the same).

Same mah. That's why I bought a pair of spc 5400 50c in 2s and 3s so I can run in 4s ,5s and 6s

what i meant to say was the voltage like fully charged each cell in both the 3s and 2s lipos and i did forget about the MAH oops.

Do you guys think it's smart of me to run 5s instead of 6s? How much more speed would I be getting if I used 6s

yes it is smart of you to run 5s instead of 6s. 6s is going to be the fastest you will be able to get with the emaxx atleast that would be around 60+ but take into consideration wind, road temp, tire blow out stock tires or just about any tire really, type of road surface. 5s would be about maybe 8-13 mph maybe slower than 6s depends on gearing too used. 4s can be made to get around 45-50mph with more aggressive gearing.

I don't know on my 5 cell run with gps I hit the throttle hard at 50 and it almost did a back flip. If I could keep the front end down it would of hit 60 no problem. That was on my revo but my maxx gets up there too

With a 3905, would much break on 5s, im trying to decide between 4s & 5s. Has anyone ever had 3905 diffs go out on 5s. Also, does keeping plastic CVD's & axles prevent diff damage on 5s or 6s? 50togo are ur 5400's from SPC, can u comment on breakage differences with 4s, 5s & 6s. Thanks. I dont mean to jack this thread, but i dont wanna start a new one.
