I have a couple 1800 MAH 30C 2S lipos that i dont have a use for. I was wondering if the EZ Start could handle a 2S?? A full charged 2S is approx 8.4V.. Not sure what a fully charged 6 Cell Nimh is.. I would need to run a voltage buzzer, or something too..
If anyone has any input on this that would be great![]()
7.2V is what a 6 cell NiMH is, so you'd most likely need to step it down.
Look out for the tree/crunch!
LiPo? Naw NITRO!!
A 6 cell is more than that fully charged though... Just like a 7.4 lipo is actually 8.4 fully charged..
Why would you want lipo? A lipo needs a new charger
I would only go lipo running electric...

I, already run lipos in my electric so i have the whole charging setup. And I have those two batteries that are too small for my slash and I, dont have a use for them.
There is no LVD on a starting wand - thats all I can think of.
Oh wait, here comes another thought....you could always "just try it", worst case, you need a new wand. Wonder if that tiny 380 motor could handle the added juice. Do tell, keep my posted!
"RED"
Yes i would run a voltage alarm/buzzer
I use a 2s 20c 4000mah lipo on my ez start. I have had the same battery in my ez starter without charging for 2 months. I have started my trucks with it about 40 times during the 2 months. I never had any problems with ez start buring out nor ez start burning out. I would never go back to a nihm on my ez start
We've used a 7cell battery on our wands without an issue.

Awesome thanks guys!
I was thinking about this the other day. Glad I came across it! I do have a question. I see RC-Fan looks as though you cut the connector off your Ni battery and spliced. Where can you find the ends to solider onto a lipo?
The battery needs a female tamiya style connector. Most hobby shops will have them. They might be called something different for example i thibk traxxas calls them molex connectors. Usually pretty cheap too
Hey thanks, I just didn't know what they were called. I looked on the Traxxas site and they called them Molex but that's just a generic term but Tamiya is what I was looking for!
I am just wondering if the traxxas connector will work on the ez-start system. I bought a couple of spare batteries and they have the male end so I need to change ends on them and was just going to switch everything to traxxas if possible.
you need traxxas to tamiya adapter to make it work with the ez start, or get tamiya female connectors for the batts.
