Stopped by my local hobby store to check out the motor/ESC and finally pulled the trigger and bought the CC 3800kv combo also went ahead and bought the castle link USB . Pretty straight forward install ??

Your going to have a lot more fun now that your brushless I went w/ the vxl system and 2s lipo but installing is a piece of cake the whole usb thing I don't know about My next truck and system I'm going to try out a castle

Ya I'm pumped to get this bad boy installed it was ether this or the vxl system but this one was cheaper what's the min C rate for a Lipo on this combo ?? 30 ?

Remember I'm pretty sure the venom was bad any way,3800 are amp hogs,they run fine on 30c but,like i said if I run one of my 65c packs Its twice the motor.

check your battery temp every few minutes at first,but they should be fine.

Seeing as those battery's are only 4k mah at 30c it might be an issue. I would recommend at the least a 5k mah 30c battery. Also your gonna need double sided tape or something to mount that esc on your truck. I know I had to buy the plastic mounting piece for mine and then use double sided tape to stick the esc to it.

The mah # is just the gas tank,A 4000mah,and a 8000man battery both 30c,will perform the same,One will just have twice the run time.
The c rating is how much power the battery can give the motor when it wants it, a50c 2s should have a 100c burst rate(short time power shot)
That's why a 3800 will run on a 25c,but if you keep asking the battery for more,it cant do it,since it has only a 50c burst rate, and the 3800 likes at least 30c minim ,35c better continuous, that gives you a 60 to 70c burst.
With a 6500mah 50c,you should get a good 40 minute run,that's running it pretty good.
Personally my 6500mah 65c battery's,are what I like running in my cc systems, where the velineon pulls about 65 amp contentious, the 3800's pull around 150 amps ,but 50c will be fine,in fact I often run mine on 35c,the only difference imo,is they don't have that short term punch I like ,or at times need.
