Hey guys I just bought a mamba monster and I didn't think about certain things when buying it..........
1. Will the trans hold up to the power I'm only running 4s and I'm afraid of punching it
2. Does the trans have metal gears
3. Will the diffs hold up or do I need to add gear oil
Please let me know what to upgrade or do before I break something
Thanks
from what ive read shim your diffs, 4s isnt as much power as 3s though
Slugs are just naturally aspirated snails
6s* sorry haha

Shim the diffs? How so?
this is done on a 1/16 but the same goes for everything

The transmission has plastic gears BUT it is essentially the same transmission as the erevo and should be solid up to 6s lipos.
MAN, Use Common Sense.
Outside? THERE IS NO BOX !
Not a problem, glad i could help![]()

The gears are the same as the erbe.......with the exception of the Summit tranny having the 2 speed. The only thing I have heard over and over is the MMM is not a good setup if you still plan to crawl. It causing a lot of cogging, I believe is how you say it.
As a couple others have said ^......its the diff's you have to worry about. Shim, Shim, Shim!!!!!! I know from person experience the MMM is tuff on diff's, and I only run 4s in my erbe. I could only imagine what it would be like in Summit diff's will all the extra moving parts.

SUMMIT, SUMVO, ERBE, EMAXX & REVO 3.3
yeah it's a little harder to shim the differentials on the summit but still the same basic idea
throttle control will save your parts in the long run, just don't slam on the trigger too much
What's a coffee if it aint Irish
I run a system that is just as powerful and so far so good with stock diffs. Do NOT punch it too hard or too much,..especially on pavement or you WILL break something. Not saying you can't do killer burn outs,..just don't pull trigger immediately to full throttle. Plus,...why would you upgrade if it's not broken yet? ; ) Worry about that later.
Get a castle link and tune it down a bit. I programmed my brushless setup to my driving style and added 50% drag brake for crawling... such a nice upgrade.
