    Custom Rustler Speed(ish) Build

After seeing some of your guys's rustler builds, I have decided to revive my own rustler with a build,- or rebuild. I already had most of the aftermarket parts installed including a lot of aluminum upgrades, but I have been inspired to create a custom chassis out of steel. I thought it would be a relatively simple build, but it took longer than I expected. Since I built the custom chassis is 1.5" longer for stability than the stock length, I decided to slap on a bandit body,(plus i like the look!) This also gave me a chance to paint it to match the theme underneath. Instead of just painting the chassis, I sprayed some bedliner on it to break up some boringness and to add a layer of protection. Let me know what you guys think!

Under chassis is strengthened with a tempered steel bar.

Not sure if i like the offroad style lights- notice the gyro temporarily under the battery tray

    Stay tuned for possible updates!

I think that looks pretty sweet.
Snow plow on the front takes some getting used to though,

What wing mount are you using on the car? And what wing?

Yeah, forgot to mention the front "wing" is just the bandit rear wing that came with the body. It "theoretically" provides "needed" downforce.- Haven't driven it installed yet though...

The wing mount is from the hellfire, and the rear wing I found online- "serpent low profile wing"

Some inspiration on the next mod I have done!

The wing provides 70 percent of the force to stop the car..... I wonder how that translates to rc?

So, I had this servo laying around from my mini, and was bored one day... So I slapped it on there and came up with this. It's actually bolted on and pretty sturdy; the zip-ties are for extra security. The servo is connected via a Y connector from the receiver splitting to the ESC and the wing servo. All this for when I apply the brakes, it pops up the wing!

    With wing down

    Wing in up position

Haven't driven yet due to colder weather and been busy lately...
Feel free to borrow my idea!

So I finally dusted off the rusty and took her out for a run! I unconnected the gyro because it needed adjustment (wheels started to wobble at 20mph-ish.) Feast your eyes boys!

Someone seriously needs to put this on their 1/8 buggy and go racing! Jumps with it would be impressive!

That's a pretty sweet mod. Good idea. I wonder how much it would help if you were slowing down from 70mph?

    As Promised:

It's pretty simple, yet I don't think there would be an easy way produce a kit for it. The wing mount is modified as are the brackets for the servo and all the hardware is pieced together. Oh, I recently changed the servo horn with a longer, sturdier one.
