Hi guys! just got my brushed merv last friday and I saw in the manual that it says I need to use an external low voltage detector if I want to use LiPo batteries. Is this tru? If so, what is the part number? Also, it seemed to be accelerating very slow today with a fully charged battery. Also, In grass it barely had enough power to get going. Is something wrong?
Okay i have a Grave Grave Digger but i can help okay Did you break in the motor and is it in Traning mode, and does your esc ahave lvd it should be printed in small print under where it say xl-2.5 right next to the small light... and you shouldn't have to get a lvd it should already be built in like mine!
if the manual says you have to add a external lvd then id think its right.... check to see if your esc is in the wrong mode, its prolly in training mode thats why you have no power
low voltage detector... http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...?&I=LXBVDG&P=7

Traxxas is good, but so are other Manus
Same thing without the cover... which every one with the cover I have used was a pain to use the button to adjust voltage.

Whatever it is I just typed... could be wrong.
go on too mini revo product page on traxxxas then go down and look for breaking in the brushed motor.. or take some distilled water put the motor in their and then run it for 10 mins then relube it with some lube NO WD-40 and the bushing that should be good
and lvd should be built in!!! and make sure your trims are set good and yea!!
be sure your light is green and not blinking run it slowly without the body on. if light blinking id check your batteries. also you can run it in training mode with slow starts for around 5-10 min then put it in the water like rc nightmare said for a min or 2 then oil. thats how i break mine in but be sure to oil it.
