Hello.
My Summit front diff and my brothers E-revo rear diff have both broken diffs now.
What should i use on each trucks?
Might this set do the trick?
Traxxas 5136X Differential Oil Kit Revo
What is the benefit of a thicker oil?
10k = thinner
50k = thicker
am i right? or wrong?
the benefit of using thicker oil is that when you get stuck all four wheels will spin instead of just one front and one back, but putting in thicker oil will make your turning radius larger
With great brushless comes great responsibility.
You would need at least 100k for the Summit (it comes stock with 100k)...I use a mixture of 100k and 50k Front and 50K Rear in my eRevo.
Rock n Rolla !
Why do you need to worrie about the oil in the diff? just lock them if you get stuck?
If you run the thicker oil then u don't have to worry about locking the diff all the time. Less breakage.
hmm. just don't lock while tires spinning. no breaky breaky.
I have ran of 2.5Yr now with no breakage (yet). But running thicker oil will = larger turning and more strain on the drive line. Yes will not have to worry about locking diff as much, But inset that what the summit is all about being able to lock the diff at the touch of a switch? just my thoughts.
I think shimming your diffs would help more than some magical thickness of diff oil![]()
What's a coffee if it aint Irish
Read his original post he is working on a revo and summit.
Everyone likes to run differentme I would rather run a little stiffer oil so I don't have to lock up unless I'm really stuck I like the challenge of running unlocked the heavier oil will keep the tires locked to a extent but still slip. Same with running my 1:1 truck in all the years of mudding and crawling I never installed lockers I liked the challange
What is thinnest? 10k or 100K?
