Re laminating nimh battery

Black tape works well. You can buy the shrink wrap at the hobby store if you want to replace

Duck Tape at Home Depot! All different colors and patterns! I have skulls and cross bones and black with flames. My sons favorite is the Batman battery!

Thanks I just taped it up with some duct tape a few days ago and haven't used it yet because i got a lipo batt. But it looks like the tape will work really well

ok, I have a similar situation with an Onxy 5000 m, that I run in my Slash VXL. My charger is a Duratrax 245, today after running the black plastic wrap on the battery had become very hot and started to melt. I understand it is just heat shrink to start with. I did run the truck until it was pretty slow. Did I over do it? Should I just wrap dome electric tape around it and move on or be concerned. I have also had this battery about a month and have run it maybe 30 times,

If it got that hot, it is probably toast.

If the pack is completely toast, take the voltages of each of the cells(don't really know what your looking for in the voltages but no harm giving it a try). Bah.what I mean is if you find a cell that you absolutely know is destroyed take the others because in know there a are people that need cells and you could sell them or use them yourself. :P
