It's tempting but I have absolutely no use for it.

I got that email too, but it's funny because they reduced the price and they disabled the USPS shipping option for International orders, so, they only ship using UPS which is $340... So, actually, for international orders, this is just a joke... I can find cheaper prices on eBay or other sites...

they probably had last years stock left over that never sold so they wanted to clear their inventory ,

what I cannot understand is how some ppl bid on a used xo-1 for over 600 plus shipping like a fewl , when right above is 700 brand new shipped , rather pay 100 more and get brand spankin new then spend 20 less for a used one

At least at this lower price the car is getting closer to its actual worth. I paid just over $1100 for mine when it was first released and sold it for $950 not too long after. The XO-1 was the absolute coolest r/c i ever owned... Until i drove it. Then I realized just how little I could actually use it on anything other than a prepped track. The roads here are always dusty and dirty making it just plain frustrating to drive, so I was glad to only take a $150 loss. Lesson learned though, I got way too caught up in the hype.

Yea Baldy, I think you pretty much find out pretty quickly which RC cars you really enjoy and would drive a lot and which would not really serve a purpose for the way you would use the car. I started out with a rustler, then figured out pretty quickly that the car was not very good for what I would do with it, I ended up just doing high speed passes up and down my street.

then I got a slash and that's the car I ve had ever since. Gone through 2wd stampede's 4x4 stampede's. And now I am own to a slash 2wd LCG, a slash 4x4 LCG, and a ken block.

As for the X0-1, don't know where I would drive it? Seems pretty tempting at $650 but where would I be able to take it to attempt 100mph passes? Just don't know.

my guess is slow sales, since its on backorder now, they aren't actually in tower hobbies wherehouse sitting and collecting dust, maybe they are in Traxxas's wherehouse collecting dust? who knows, but $650 sounds a lot better than $1000!

I just don't get the big price increases over the year, I remember when the slash 4x4 first came out, you could get one at tower with the $60 discount and get one shipped for $309 to your door, that was a good deal!

I know they have made small improvements over the years but the price does not justify the increase in price

A lot of the prices went up when they upgraded to the new TQi. On the other trucks they include a Lipo battery and charger, that's why they went up. As sad as it may be things do go up over time. I still find them a really good deal for a Hobby grade RC.

I don't think you can argue the price of the XO-1 though for <$600 shipped. Just the electrics are worth close to that. Then the tires and the upgraded aluminum.

You still can only get the X0-1 for the $600 shipped price only if your a gold member at tower and you have spent enough there to earn the gold status.

For the rest of us reglular members, its $649 shipped. I am curious as to how many people use the TQi with the iphone or itouch features? I for one, don't have an iphone so never bothered getting the TQi.

I was still able to order mine. There are two ways you can do it. The first is user the 01424 code which is $90 off. They will bill you when it ships. The second is to use the 01425 code and order that extra item to take it above $700. Place your order with the code. They will bill you for the "other" item, then apply the discount to the XO-1 when it ships. That's what I did, and I have done it in the past as well. Too good of a deal to pass up :-) . . .if I change my mind, I will sell it. Just leave the box sealed. Someone could get a great deal.

I just tried to use that $50 off code but you have to add the Tower Membership in order to use it and then you even have to wait until the car ships before the coupon applies. Note: I am not a Tower Super Saver Club member or whatever that is.

I bet all these recent online sales are because of the MFA. The dust will really start building up in the Traxxas warehouse after that starts.
