I think "right" should be something like "ripped."
Yes you can fix tires, but I would not think a tire with a six-inch tear would be worth fixing.

If it has a 6in rip in it then the tire is junk and time for a new one, ebay is the cheapest place for stock tires if that's what you want.

It doesn't matter how old the tire is, I've had a tire with only 1/2 tank of fuel on them slide into something sharp and rip the sidewall out, one new tire in the trash can.

On ebay search "T maxx tire" and lots of new and used tires will pop up.

I would not bother with the the Proline big joes, they are very large & heavy.

The tires in the link below are what come on the current T maxx.

The stock chevrons are hard to beat for durbility, you can get any of the stock type tires off ebay rather cheap.

Sporttraxx, badlands are a good allaround off road tire.

For asphalt running you need an onroad tire, moat of thr of road tires don't last long on pavement.

For sandy areas I run the chevrons in the rear & tallons on the front.

The mashers are a good all-round tire.

They are two different rim sized tires yes, setting them side by side they are the same height, tho the older chevrons are a little wider then the Talon's are due to the rims.

It works out good for me as I have them all & did go buy them just for that, using the chevrons on the rear for sandy areas is kinda like a paddle tire but without having to buy them.

do the 4910 tires and wheels and if it is speed you want I would go with a bigger clutch bell (bigger clutch=more speed)
