    Buying new MERV....need battery help!!

    I'm going to be purchasing a new MERV vxl this Saturday and was unsure if I can run a 2s lipo with stock pinion?

    You can but you should watch your temperature on the motor.

    Yeah I'm running 3s Lipo but I'm having some overheating issues. Very frustrating

    With 3s you'll have to gear it pretty low if you want to make it through a whole pack without stopping. Me I just run my gearing for 2s and stop about half way through to let it cool a bit.

    So running stock pinion on 2s lipo is fine?? Will I notice any benefit with the 2s lipo without changing to speed pinion??

    Yes... a whole lot of punch and fun for at least 30 minutes.

    I ran 2S on 28/50 gearing (stock) for 1 hour straight (2S in parallel) without any issues in most circumstances. The only time I overheated is when running in grass... so I then put the "speed" pinion in to lower temps. I was still happy with speed so I left it... no more heat issues.
    Whatever it is I just typed... could be wrong.
