Thumbs up Proline Rock Rage Tires

I am not gonna deny it, I am excited for these tires, finally proline is about to release some tires similar to the stock ones. I love the stock because they are tall and soft, but need a little more grip, I think these new Rock Rage would do just that. What are your thoughts?

I will be the first to buy them for sure. I been running the summit almost daily for the past 2 weeks and I just love this thing, I feel like I need to treat it to something good.

Are they so much better than stock ones that you would replace perfectly good stock tires?

I like the Stock Tires a lot. The only weakpoint is the thin rubber. I often get small holes i have to glue

We all have tire issues around here. We replace tires because we can. Here check this thread out it might help explain the madness. http://traxxas.com/forums/showthread...79-Tire-issues

Actually soft rubber is what I am hoping it has. Trenchers have firm rubber for bashing and high speed, what's hard to find are durable soft tires that are specfically built for climbing.

I have a feeling they will be trencher stiff at first.we can hope they are g8 compound my moab xl's were that compound and they were softer but sticky compared to the m2 compound.i think the trenchers are m2.The trenchers are pretty worn.... maybe need some new climbing tires lol .... Oh no the feelings are coming back but ....I NEED them right?

If they use the same rubber compound as the trenchers (dissapointing) then you may want to consider the new littler Big Joes II

Im still hoping that the rock rages come in softer compound rubber. I mean come on, the proline "road rage" tires are strictly for the road, could the "rock rage" tires follow suit? Proline has more than enough simple all-terrain bashing tires already.

guys, these tires have been specifically designed for the Summit, based on the stock tires, I spoke with someone at proline, so no worries on the hard compound, they will be soft and sticky

under the specs they show the rubber compound system (soft to firm) but they failed to specify where the rock rages are categorized.

I'm gonna assume/hope and pray that they are in the g8 compound cause those are for rock crawlers and since these are Rick rage they should be in the rock tire compound ?rockż did I mention rocks?

guys Im not seeing it, via Prolines test video all they did was run and bash. The tires were tough, strong, stiff, durable and did not seem to deform one bit

What I was hoping for was a tire that is soft/ pliable / deforms-forms, and grabs onto the rocks such as these losi claws

So to me the rock rages appear to be just another proline standard "cookie-cutter" basher tire with a different design - big joe, lil, joe, trencher, masher.

So I guess we have to cut the foams to make them soft,
but hey, like everyone always say " the summit is not a real rock crawler anyway"

I don't really see any need for a "crawler" tire for the summit since the stockers are perfect for that.

Some guys prefer narrower tires than Canyons on their weighted beadlocks for rock crawling. I don't see a lot of rock crawlers with wide tires that look like Big Joe's. My Canyons crawled pretty good too. Way, way, way better than my Big Joe's.

Just thinking out loud here, but could that be a good thing? A major fault with the stock tires it they are too soft and tear, so wouldn't having a having a tire the same size and shape as the stock tires, but with a harder compound be a good thing?

yes that is a good thing - now see trencher, masher, big joe II, shockwave, "ROCK rage"

The point is they are all roughly the same size, roughly the same shape, just change the tread design and viola!!!! Another ho-hum bashing tire.

I mean GOLLY who would have thought that a tire with the name "ROCK Rage" be made of the specific G8 - "rock" compound rubber?

They will still work decent.i didn't have much faith in the trenchers....at first.but they proved me wrong.i have a set of Moab xl in the g8 not really thinner rubber per say but more pliable and actually feel sticky.
Grippy on the rock, even smooth damp rock,I have lots of that.

compare to Trencher - which one is narrower? Cause the Trencher X is huge...
