    Mamba Monster 2200kv heatsink

    Hi,

I have a mamba monster in my slash 4x4. I am trying to find an heatsink for the motor. I have been
looking on forums but couldn't find a good one.

I know there is these two:
    http://www.castlecreations.com/products/cc_blower.html

    http://www.ebay.com/itm/Ultimate-Mam...-/120845422648

Does Integy makes one for the mamba monster?

    (sorry for my english,I'm french)

    Thanks

Have you looked on their website or given them a call? To be honest the castle heat sink looks nice.

Thanks for your answer, i've looked one they're website and could'int find one. I will try to give them a call tomorrow. I own the castle one and due to the two zip ties needed to attach it, I cannot set my pinion/spur. The space between them is to big. The only way to solve that would be to increase the pinion size.

i bet that you will never see temps over 130 on your Slash. A motor fan will not be necessary but if you decide you need one, the Castle blower is the way to go.

Is this what you are looking for? This is a 1515 2200kv motor.

I modified the regular Integy heatsink for the stock Velineon 3500 Motor, it works great. "Modified" meaning I made it fit.

Why do you need a fan on that setup? I'd normally say that if you need a fan for a 1515 in a Slash 4x4, you are doing something very wrong.

    Thanks v8sten!!

The reason why I want an heatsink is because I run 4s, on the grass, at full trottle
After 5-10 minutes, the motor is super hot (you cannot toutch it for more than 1/2 secondes)

rethink your gearing. What is your current gearing at?

That doesn't mean a thing. What is the actual temperature at that time? Too hot for fingertips is not necessarily too hot for the motor.

    My current gearing is 20/50.
I am gonna try to find a temp gun to be able to see the temps.

Thanks every one four your answer. After being able to see my real temp, I will decide if I put a fan or not.

I run 4s and 6s with that motor on grass and it never gets above 155. Geared 13\40 mod1. That is probaly similar to 20/50 or close to it. I do run 6s on the street. it is really way too much power but it doesn't get more that 160 on speed runs. I don't run a fan or heatsink on it ever.

Ok thanks, I am pretty sure I do not need a fan or heatsink anymore.

Umm, no. It's just a ratio (a fraction) and 20/50 = 16/40. That is quite a bit higher than 13/40 BUT does not necessarily mean there will be significantly higher temperatures.

I run my ERBE with 21/62 gearing on 4S with 7" tires and never have to check the temperatures. I don't worry about terrain type with this gearing. So long as I can roll over or through what's in front of me, temps will be fine.

Type ezrun heatsink into the ebay search bar, and pick the one that fits the size of yer motor. This thing will definitely lower yer temps. The fan sounds like a helicopter, heh.
