Is it time to trade in my TRX 3.3

My Revo engine is about 3 years old. I don't use it that much maybe 2 gallons of gas run through it. I don't think more than that. Lately I have been having an issue with tuning. When I gun it, the engine bogs down and shuts off. I have tried to tune the needle and every time I think I have it, the same issue comes back. Weather has been a bit humid which I am sure does not help but my question is, is the motor worn out or do I just need to tune better. If it is worn out is there a way to repair it or is it better to just send it in for a new one? The motor has not been abused- Having said that I often do not do the after run procedure. Thoughts?

When a nitro engine has lost compression they will usually start and run fine when cold, but will die at idle when it reaches running temps and wont start again until it has cooled off. When they're running to rich they will boooooog. And when they're running to lean they will b-o-o-o-o-o-g. If that makes any sense.

You did say the weather has been more humid, which is going to make it work more when compressing air. So you may have to re-tune it. Don't get discouraged, it takes 5 minutes. Your best bet is to reset your needles back to the stock position(http://traxxas.com/node/50983) and go from there.

You'll avoid the hair pulling if you go over the sticky I posted and read the owners manual especially about the part of the carburator and tuning for performance....

Hi Everyone just want to say thank you. I am going to try all of the suggestions. Humidity is gone and I may have some time in the afternoon.

One other question. I have watched y LHS tune and he runs the engine and hold the car in the air and runs on WOT to check the tunes. Is this okay for me to do? Seems easier than running down the street and it konks out half way

You should never rev high rpm's with the wheels off the ground, it's very bad on the motor. And it takes more than a couple of seconds for adjustments to the tune to take full effect.
