Yeah a few years ago i had a Suzuki Hayabusa and they sold some frame and motor plugs like these that had spikes or skulls in the center. I may have to see what i can find on Ebay.
Ordered some 1 inch Ford logo sticker from EBay for the center caps. Sent the wife out today to see if she could find the sticker for the back glass in white letters(I EAT SUMMITS
&
FULL SIZE CHEVYS )
The back glass sticker will be done tomorrow . Thanks rag6 for the great idea.
My wife said the guy making the sticker wanted to know why I wanted it to say I Eat Summits . LoL

Picked up some 1/4 key stock and some 1 inch small bolts .The bottom chassis(batt tray) bolts to the top chassis with 6 two and half inch bolts that run through a 2 inch brace. Right now any time I do any work on Overkill I have to remove the batt tray and braces which puts all the stress on the thin top chassis plate. The plan is to use 12 bolts instead of 6 to attach the batt tray and brace to the chassis. This way I can remove to batt tray and leave the braces on. The key stock is going between the bottom of the brace and the batt tray to make more room for the batts. I also picked up a set of black and a set of semi clear plastic 1 inch hole plugs for different options . Would like to paint one set the same color as Overkill.

Took Overkill out for a quick run today then tore it down to start on the gear reduction. I installed the 72 tooth spur with lots of dremel work .Here is my first thoughts on placement of the center gears but doesn't leave much room to solder them together .
[IMG][/IMG]
This seems to be the best way to place the gears so that i have enough room to solder or weld the 2 center gears together. I still have to grind the stem of each center gear down so that the smaller gear lines up with the spur.
[IMG][/IMG]
I cut the stem off the bigger center gear keeping the grub screw hole intact so that i could later use it to hold the center shaft in place so it doesn't move side to side. After several tries i finally got the center gears soldered together and drilled a hole in the motor plate for the center shaft. Maybe tomorrow i can get the trans plate made and put some shims (washers) on the out side of the center gears to keep them from walking .

wow this is defenently going well
I like the idea of the gear reduction. now that 5000lbs is it on wheels or dead weight?

Got a package in the mail today and almost threw the contents away on accident because it was so small. I swear there's 3 Summits in this picture you just need a magnifying glass to see the small one . Its the small yellow blur to the right.
[IMG][/IMG]
I just hope i don't lose it in a crack or under a leaf might have to put some sort of tracking device on it. When i opened it i had the exact opposite reaction as compared to opening the 1/10 Summit. This puppy better be fast or the kids just got an early Christmas present.
Told you the 16ths were tiny!!

Whatever it is I just typed... could be wrong.
welcome to the 1/16's club. they are small but very fun
Looks like a chew toy for Overkill not even big enough for a snack.
REALLY shows the scale in that picture with the three of them! Totally awesome build!
I found an old chassis from my 1/16 Revo from a couple years ago, wow I forgot how TEENY TINY those things were, so cute and all that hahaha!![]()
Hmm I really do not think it's big enough

With the gear reduction added and the 72 tooth spur 18 tooth pinion first gear top speed should be 4.4 mph and 12.3 mph for second. I had no luck getting a 14 tooth 8mm bore pinion from Kershaw Design so im back to making my own . Might as well get a few different sizes to play with and test .
Then we would be up to this

12 inch tires might be a little too much.
... I doubt any a mount of weight up top would be more than the weight of those wheels and tires! I had that thing because it looks like it has a stupid turning radius and the weight of those wheels would be beyond ridiculous.
Overkill has the dimensions just right if you ask me!
I do believe I'm blushing .![]()
Believe it or not Overkill is my very first hobby grade rc ever. What little bit i know is because of this site mainly Jimmie Neutron correcting me when i'm wrong. That and lots of reading and research when i see something that interest me. Before i started on Overkill i spent every night for 2 months looking up parts and putting it together in my head.
As far as your diff servo is there any way you could make a video of it working and post on here?
