I'm making my tmaxx a twin 3.3. I have already custom made an extended chassis, 2 3/8" longer. Have engines mounted, plans to use 2 jato fuel tanks but that will depend on what exhaust I use. I need suggestions on what headers other people have used I want the exhaust to go down the side of the chassis that's all that's holding me up is the exhaust.
man that thing is gonna go through nitro fuel like crazy even if u tune to lean side... question when tuning a dual engine r/c car/truck do you guys make adjustments identically at the same time on both carbs? I am assuming all needles need to be set precisely equally when first installing it/setting it to a starting point. Sounds over kill for two 3.3, but i know for a fact it will be cool to do and it will have lots of power and you can mod it to to be wider, higher, and you can run massive 7 inch tires. sounds like it will be a beast!!
What if u get dual 2.5 traxxas engines??
Unfortunately I can't post pics. I'll see if I can get someone to.
when I did my twin engine 3.3 I use revo for the 2nd exhaust and leave the other one as it is.

I don't have any pics of mine anymore but, what I did, I mounted one tank by the receiver box (stock tank) and the 2nd one right behind the steering servo (OFNA tank), right above the steering servo, I mounted my receiver box
I wanted to do cemetrical look too with both exhaust side by side but being the engine is off a little more to one side the tuned pipe hit the body so, I went with revo tuned pipe run it thru the back side.

I'm not worried about reciever and battery right now. Wish you had pics. Which headers did you use? Revo?
So just normal revo exhaust. Hmmm. I'll have to try and fit that. Just happens I have a revo here also
yours actually extend longer than mine if I recall so, you have all the room you need![]()
you've done a great job on fabricating that chassis![]()
Ya I made it pretty long. Haha. All I have left to do is figure out exhaust and mount tanks and polish chassis.
How about 2 of these pipe sets for the Losi 10T 3.4 engine?

If your pockets are deep give Robin at ERCM a call, his pipes aren't cheep but they are hand built beauty's.

Look out for the tree/crunch!
LiPo? Naw NITRO!!
Ercm pipes are in the future. I wanna get this running first.
I can assure you one thing... Stock drive shafts on the centers will not hold up to twins... They barely hold up to stock, now you have a lot more torque and weight to have to get moving as well...
Snook Man has done a twin build and would have some good help (search his posts for twin tmaxx)... Things like linkages, shafts, etc...
Balance and placement is key, locate the center of the vehicle and place everything in it's wanted hoe, feel if the left, right, front rear is overly heavy.
Just find a fl tank that fits this application and where it will find a home around your electronics and linkages...
Are you planng to bash, try to make some wild jumper? Drag racer? or keep it on the MT sideof things... All has to do with your setup..... Don't want too much weight in the front if you ware wanting control in the turns as you will get a lot of push in the trns, But if you want to be a puller you want it all up there and then some...
Looking good man.
WIldman also knows what he is talking about ....![]()

I have a mip rear drive shaft. I have the linkage all hooked up already. I'm just going to bash it. All I have is to do is mount the exhaust and tanks. I'm kinda leaning towards keeping the exhaust at the rear now just so I can mount the tanks in the sides of the transmission
I wonder if the diffs will handle that setup? Looking good tho. It will be very interesting to drive...i could imagine
T-MAXX 2.5R
Slayer Pro
Revo
Monster Pirate
Ya. I'm predicting the trans gears, drive shafts, diffs aren't gonna last too long. May upgrade over winter to all steel gears.
Well you can tune the engines one at a time, good to keep the lines, fuel and pressure, the same as the engine and not combined....
I'm looking forwad to seeing how it all holds up, maybe use battery placement to halp with the offset of the engine placement?
Hey, it's a hobby, and what you are doing looks like a lot of fun...![]()

It's been actually easier than I thought except for figuring out exhaust. I'm all good now. I'm home free. I decided to get two brand new engines.
Nice build. I can't wait 2 see some videos.
Jato 3.3, Revo .28 JL Max, Nitro Stampede 3.3
Vids will come in summer. Should be fun.
Ya I guess I could. Haha
Very nice. So you never ran it?
Love the sound of twins. Where did you get those wheels?
Well I just have to make some muffler mounts and give the chassis a mirror polish and I'm done the hard part. Now to upgrade the rest. Diffs, tranny, etc
All done the mock up. Everything fits good. Now to disassemble and polish the chassis and skid plate
Hey that's an awesome looking build. I could never attempt something that complex myself. My engineering skills aren't that great. If it isn't bolt together I have a problem with it. I was wondering how you got such a mirror shine out of that skid? I want to strip and polish a Revo chassis this winter to use as a basis for a big block build but I'm worried about it looking bad after I take the anodizing off. If I could get a shine half as good as you have there I think it would look terrific.
First off it's more work than expected. First I sanded it with a palm sander with 220 grit to get scratches out. Then sand with 400, 600, 1000, 2000 grit sandpaper. Then I have some buffing wheels on a bench grinder with some polishing sticks. That skit plate took me close to 2 hrs.
did you make another chassis out of a mirror, lol. great job polishing it![]()
