    Stripped another diff...

I stripped my fourth diff in 3 weeks are there any better ones I can buy other than the stock ones?

I was having similar problems at one time. I replaced internal gears over and over. Cleaned everything and still stripped gears. I saw someone posting that replacing all bearings and gearbox helped them. I decided to scrap the old gearbox and buy one from a chop shop on ebay. 23 dollars later I didn't have a problem.

I know it doesn't help your issue but sometimes its just easier and cheaper to replace the whole thing than to trouble shoot it.

Something is misaligned in your trans. I would get a new case and guts and start over.......

The best bang for the buck is another stock one on ebay. ~$25 shipped

The only other option is to build one but you get into a $65-75 dollar gearbox.

Hot Racing Traxxas Electric Rustler gearbox motor mount TE12GX01 $27.88
ST Racing Concepts ST3793AE Aluminum Trans Layshaft $10.66
    Bearings $8.00
    Associated slipper $8.00
Hot Racing Traxxas sealed aluminum differential case TE38CH $22.88
    3696 Idler gear, steel (30-tooth) $3.00
2382 Planet gears (4)/ planet shafts (4)/ sun gears (2)/sun gear alignment shaft (1) all hardened steel $6.00
    3195 Top drive gear, steel (22-tooth) 3.00
    1985: PTFE-coated washers, 5x8x0.5mm (20) (use with ball bearings) $2.00

This is indeed strange, something has to be out of whack.
Your not going from reverse to forward full throttle trying to pull wheelies are you.
This is a definite prescription for trans failure.
I've found the stock diff to be one of the strongest out there but as stated in earlier posts a bad bearing or even bearing seat can cause trouble.
Is it the outer diff gear or the internal planetarys failing?

Stripping planetary gears typically mean poor suspension setup or poor fluid in the diff. Your rear tire is lifting up and your diffing out.
