Question Pin to repair CV joint? Front wheel drive sucks.

I had an interesting experience at the weekend, I lost drive to my rear wheels and as front wheel drive the summit sucks.

On closer inspection, it looks like I have lost the pin from the CV joint (nearest the chassis). Can anyone suggest what I can use to repair it or do I need to get a new CV joint/axle. My initial thoughts were trying to use a small nail and dremmel it to size?

    Thanks in advance

I think a nail would be a little too soft, it may work with good throttle control. In a pinch I've used the non fluted part of a drill bit. I just cut off the length I needed. Drill bits are very hard metal, I was worried it would be brittle but it held up well.

The drill bit sounds like a good idea, thanks. As for good throttle control, I had pleanty of practice trying to drive the Summit back to my car using only front wheel drive
