Is 3 year old fuel any good?

3 years ago i bought a gallon of nitro fuel for my T-Maxx, got a few runs in & something in my tranny breaks. The truck will no longer move forward when the trigger is squeezed so I shelf it & run my electrics for the next 3 years. My new project:Fix my T-Maxx & enjoy some nitro action! The fuel was kept in the garage where it was exposed to temperature changes. I kept the seal plug in & the cap screwed on tight. Should i just buy new fuel & not take the chance?

It should be fine, as long as no direct sunlight. Just shake it up a little and run it

Is it a new engine or a worn in one? I've used 7+ year old fuel with no ill side effects though it did smell bad as it ran and the performance was not as great as new fuel.

It's a new 2.5R engine with a gallon or less of fuel through it.

Ever notice there isn't any expiration dates on your fuel? It's mainly dependent on how and where it is stored...

If kept in a consistent temperature and out of sunlight, it should be good for a while. Found a 2 yr old bottle of left over fuel from a race, had to be 3 yrs old... Works fine.
