Well since I broke the bulkhead and some other items I decided to switch to a new chassis. Really thought about the new lcg chassis but for my all around driving I want the clearance so I went with the standard chassis.

Rebuilt my velineon motor finally, installed a new 86t pinion gear and a set of blue anodized TRX caster blocks.

Cleaned it after this session from the other day:
Broke it down and got all the grime out of everywhere. I swapped the Pede over to bearings in the wheels while I was at it. I also ordered the Kingz Head motor mount for the Slash today.
My son wants lights on his Pede so now I'm shopping for what to put on it. Probably get some for the Slash too.
I like to pretend I know what I'm talking about.
Watched my daughter jump snow banks with hers! Man that was funner than ripping my own stuff!
3s shakedown runs with a new rpm tranny in 15degree weather. full throttle was hard to come by but the motor temps were great.
Busted my 3th stock rear stub axle carrier and finally switched to rpm. All broken on <12" high jumps and doing barrel roll flips in 20 degree F weather.
Replaced gear box due to big fast crash, lined everything up, but now the main spure gear comes loose and I have to open the cover up, and tighten. Do I have the gape between the spure and the clutch gear to far apart? Or is my gear shot?
I'm painting up a new VW Bug body for the 2wd Slash. Going to use a Red Bull theme.

Sold mine.
Still have my p4de. Needed a new exhaust for my bike. Lol.
My Son got his Slash 2WD for Christmas so he's had about 8 days of use and ABUSE! It's seen a ton of snow, ice and mud. Things started sounding a bit "crunchy" in there so today I hopped on You Tube and pulled up a video on how to overhaul/clean the transmission. Took me a couple of hours to pull it all apart clean and reassemble but it went smoothly and I'm sure will go quicker next time. The toughest part was getting to the 2 allen bolts at the base of the shock tower. Tight space!
Now it's all cleaned up and ready for his race Saturday!
Yeah its pretty tight there, take off the rear body mount and its pretty easy to get in there, something you really should get is a nice hex driver set, I paid 20 bucks for mine and they're well worth it, much easier to use than those crap hex keys.

Installed a new RPM front bumper along with both front RPM hub control arms.
I've had the slash for two weeks and this thing is a beast. Finally took it to a dirt track yesterday and had a blast.
Up next is the flysky gtr3c TX and RX. The some mounted duratrax lockup MT's.

Thanks!! It's amazing how much better those tires are than the stock ones.
Added a RPM rear bumper and set of mudflaps, installed the bumper opposite as it was intended to show off more of the rear of the truck, when I start bashing more hardcore I will flip it back for better protection.

I installed the FlySky FSg3c today. Great TX for the money. Defiantly an upgrade over the TQ TX.
I broke my slash may be a rear bearing I don't know but if I pull the throttle down halfway if makes a high piched sound
Smoked the titan 12t on a 3s lipo today. Looks like BL in on its way...

Really, how long did the titan last? And was it really fast?

I just put a new blue lcg chassis in rit and am waiting for my new parts order that also includes another rc car. SO PUMPED!![]()
Well, today, i mainly bashed around in the backyard and some in the street. Since the snow is pretty much melted here and a strange heat wave hit northern Ohio, today was an amazing day for R/C. Finally could awake the Slash out of it's long winter's slumber with a proper bashing run, and boy, it needed it. I missed driving this sucker around...

I removed the MMP and installed the SSC with the 3800kv. Ran a couple 2s packs thru it and played with the gearing. Made a bunch of little 2 inch ditches thru my yard. Sprayed a bunch of mud on my son and then got a face full myself when it was his turn to try the new rig.
Everything. LCG chassis, MM2+2650KV, XO-1 diff's, it was a good night!

I lost a king pin, good thing I had some extra STRC king pins. It was back up and running within 5mins. Easy fix

took apart my sidewinder to clean out the fan and get it back to working.

I opened it up by gently lifting the sides over the tabs. Then from the side with a little flat head u can gently pry the fan out of the top, and clean how ever u feel is best.

^is this easy to do? And does it void the warranty from castle?

I shortened the wires on my the ESC and Motor (brushless VXL) about 4 inches and used the larger Castle 4mm connectors. Looks a ton better.
Got the new LCG chassis ready to go. Can't wait to try it out tomorrow!
