    "Rat" Slash

    [IMG][/IMG][IMG][/IMG][IMG][/IMG]

Hi, a different look for the Slash :-). It now looks a bit different after a few summersaults down the track, scratches are fine as add to the look, but keeping the paint on is a challenge. quick spray and a sand and all new again....hahahhaha

That almost looks like something out of the Mad Max movies! It is for sure original. That ia what fuels this addiction, personalization.

Wow. Very impressive paint scheme, did you do it with an airbrush?

Definitely one of my favorite paint jobs I've seen in a while that looks awesome. Would love to steal the idea from you if you wouldn't mind sharing how you did it

That is awesome. And i love how, unlike most paint jobs/bodies, as it gets beat up it won't begin to look worse. Plus like you said you can touch it up easy peasy.

    thanks for the compliments.

It started out as a factory painted ultimate that was starting to crack up. I wanted the matt look so an undercoat went on the outside, the rust and then the matt black. I then sanded it back. easy peasy :-). Yes it does scratch up which is ok, and yes the paint does flake off after tumbling down the track. Auto paint is not flexible but will be easy to repair. I might post a picture of it now beaten up, looks very different with a lot of the paint missing. Even more rat...... and no there won't be a sticker go near it

However I will try to do a clear body (need a '50s vintage). paint the matt black on inside and sand it back in the low spots, and then apply the rust. This however won't give the full matt look. maybe a solvent wiped over the lexon will dull it up.hahahhaha
I also want to experiment with crumpling a few fenders and creating panels eaten out with rust, Am thinking heat gun and a laterite rock to press into the soft lexon. Will see what happens.

Underneath body has black LCG chassis, Kingshead motor mount, proline power shocks, boco bearings, tecno drive shafts, servox server, RPM A's, heatsinks/fans. Rest std Ultimate.

    Cya
