    Cool More Durable Bodies

I have a Slash 4x4 stock body. This is my second one. I keep going through them quick because they crack and break up after bashing.

    Are there more durable bodies?

Will the Proline bodies fit with the stock brackets or do I need to change the brackets to fit proline?

Just make sure it's a slash 4x4 proline body. There are several.

Proline has great bodies. You can get proline body mounts to make almost any body fit.

Here's my slash. You can get some really good looking trucks with the proline bodies.

    Did somebody say Desert Raid?!?

It's got a few scratches since that picture but so far I'm impressed with it's durability.

Proline has good bodies, tougher than stock in my opinion. But, I think JConcepts bodies are thicker and hold up better.

How are the extended body mounts holding up? Saw a couple reviews that said they break easy and the thumb snaps get lost.

this little champ holds up to a lot of abuse..

    especially with a plastidipped coating

emerson, i've been using the PL extended mounts for a while, they're nice to give you adjustability and do hold up pretty well (better than the rpm mounts did for me) they have a lot of flex to them (both good and bad) and yes, the caps to come off occasionally, i picked up a rebuild kit and an extra stash on thumb screws to keep handy. all in all... they hurt my fingers less then body clips to put on and take off so i like 'em :P

I broke my stock body mounts so got some RPM ones and they weren't as adjustable and they broke way too easy. The Proline ones have been great. Haven't broken yet and I love the adjustability.

Great question. I've only run it with them a few times now. So far the mounts themselves are fine. I did lock the threaded studs in with a bit of CA though. The thumb screws/caps whatever they are called have gotten very chewed up thanks to a few lid slides on pavement. One of them is literally half gone. I've got extras in hand. So far I haven't had any pop off or anything.

The whole truck will get a proper beating this weekend when my son comes back home.

If you lose the caps wheel nuts do just fine in a pinch.

Very nice Chevy! I'm using the PL BadLands tire on mine and with the tires centered in the wells, i had to trim the back of the rear quarters a bit for clearance.
