    1/8 diffs

I am in search for an 1/8 built proof diff that will fit in the FLM hybrid bulks and that will work with the Traxxas CVDs. I am having a hard time finding a good combo!

I have been looking at the hyper 7 diff but looks like those won't work with the CVDs.

I think you can make a hyper 7 diff work with the proper output shafts. I thought UE made some but I cant find them.

Maybe these will work? I prefer the one pc design myself. Nothing to come loose there.

UE makes one pc cups too.

Well we are on the right track, but I just need the shaft WITHOUT the cup.

I'm using the FLM hybrid bulks with the stock FLM (Castor) diffs and the Traxxas CVDs. I just popped the cups off the CVDs, and the CVDs fit right into the cups on the diffs. The blue boots then slide right over the FLM cups.

Yeah, let me see if I can take some pics after work today. It may not be obvious, but those cups are only held onto the CVDs by the rubber boots.

So you just take that end off and put it in the drive cup? Some company has to make a drive shaft just for this case?

Yeah, I'm pretty sure. I didn't get a chance to take pictures of mine tonight, and I still have to figure out how to post pics on this site. Let me see if I can post some for you tomorrow.

Do you need the output shaft of the middle ?

If so, just cut the threaded part of a Traxxas stub axle.

Sweet mother!!!! I think those will work!!! Only one question where does the little rubber o-ring go? Isn't there suppose to be a little grove for that?? Or do you even need that grove?

I would just use the ue 1-pc cups. Much stronger than the traxxas stub and you wont be for ever retightening the the screws holding the cup on the axle.

I would really like to use the whole CVD, I mean for an $80 upgrade I wasn't expecting them to be this hard to find a way to mount them to the diffs :-/ but I am still thinking about the cups too.

If you use a dab of red locktite, it will hold and you can get it out. Not really sure who said it.
