    Slash Hot Rod

Ok so i picked up a slash off craigslistthat needs some love going to do a hot rod themed slash with it i have a 55 chevy bel air body for it that i have had and looking for a good price on a slash and i also have the traxxas 2wd slash lcg chassis

this is what i started with

had a rainy day with nothing to do so i was thinking i would try to save this old body to have somthing to run until i get the 55 body painted

Man that thing needs a bath, clean clean clean. Spray it down with some Simple Green and use a old toothbrush to get the really bad parts, then rinse it off real good. Not only does being that dirty just look bad, it weighs the truck down and wears out components like shocks, bearings and hinge pins...

I always rinse my Slash off in the shower if I have been running in muck before I put it away. Think of it as preventative maintenance...

Doesn't even look like you have shocks on it lol, seem waaaay too stiff, the truck is just bouncing around instead of absorbing the bumps. I do like how the body is looking on the truck though, seems like a perfect fit.

If its all on road, the shocks seem fine. Off road, they seem stiff, but this is mainly an on road car right? Even so, it did pretty well in the grass...

yes when i get the new tires it will be just for on road and speed runs i was going to do the funny car wheels on all 4 but they will stick out so going with traxxas bandit wheels Front and going to run the traxxas bandit a arms and camber links so the wheels dont stick out in the back

Banditacondas look killer for the front! If you get the bandit specific front stub axles, it might mount a little better. Tucking the funnycar rear tires up into the wheelwells is gonna be awesome!

For 4 bucks, you may want to check these out 8)

Love the hood scoop! I wasn't sure when you first mentioned it if the scale would look right but it definitely does! Also the narrowed rear wheelbase looks cool, like a narrowed rear on an older muscle car built for the track!

Did you use bandit arms to narrow the rear? I'm hoping they will narrow it enough for the slicks. Waiting on those and the front bandit wheels to get here. The funny car fronts are way to small and the LHS didn't have the chrome wheels in stock yesterday. Only thing I can say about the body is don't bat on it to hard cracked mine in 3 spots yesterday but that was some bigger jumps and bad roof landings. Main reason I don't like parma bodies is they are to thin.

yes i used bandit arms to narrow but if not enough room i will make some custom arms if you go to do it be sue to fet the camber links and you have to get the drive shafts also or cut the slash ones down

Love it James just got mine done today. Bandit arms worked great for me. The banditcondas are perfect for the front on mine even with it having the jang wide mod. [IMG][/IMG]

What an awesome looking Slash!! Way to think outside the box! You just need a Lexan interior to finish it off.
