Traxxas Revo TRX 2.5 Receiver or battery problem..?

    I'm new to Nitro btw

I have a Traxxas Revo 5310 truck that was given to me by a friend who got it from his dad. The 6v battery pack that runs the radio receiver and servos has been charged (according to the charger which changes from a blinking LED to a solid green after a short time). But when I try to run the truck, the *function* LED flashes RED indicating a dead battery (says so in the manual). I have tested the battery with a MultiMeter which indicates the battery is supplying 6.77V.

Would this be a receiver issue? Or is it maybe the battery isn't supplying enough Amps? I don't know how to test for that.

The battery may be old in that it cannot take a load but off load it gives off a decent voltage. Do you have Opti-Drive in the truck? If so, bypass it and see if the problem disappears or not.
