The "wheels for Stampede 4x4" thread.

Hey Guys, I've seen a bunch of different threads here and there and some photos of different set ups but I thought it would be cool to have one thread for people to look at and learn from. Lets post all the different wheel setup's and tires available with or without doing mods for the Stampede 4x4.

For example I recently saw the RPM Clawz and wondered if they would fit our truck? What about some sort of beadlock so we don't need to glue up?

My current set up that will be going away soon as the snow is melting rapidly . Desperatos with Mashers in the Front and Sand Paws rear. Considering going Sand Paws on all 4 corners next year to see if it'll climb any better. Though I read from someone steering gets poor with them in the front.

The 3.2 rpm wheel will have to be trimmed as well as the 2.8 tires. Youtube has vids of it. You will also need 17mm adapters

Those look pretty sweet. Love the deep dish look of them. Are they a direct bolt on?

Yes they are direct bolt on because they are wide offset. They are 2.2 inch wheels which i think give it a more scale realistic look as opposed to 2.8 wheels.

Nice thread. I will post a little video and pics of stampede with anaconda tires when i got my pc back, it is the best tires i have use for high speed.
Its 2,8" wheels but low tires so the size is like the stock slash tires but its littlebit wider than slash tires.

Anyone that have tried street wheels with 17 hex?
Thinking of the supercar wheels or something like that.. Maby stampede be to high with supercar wheels?

Interested in seeing if anyone else has made 2.2 wheels work other than rpms.I guess alot would with the help of hub extensions. Very interested in this thread as not a whole lot of wheels work on the p4de.

Could be the photosharing site you are using. I use Photobucket, works good.

That looks sweet. Had to trim down the tire correct? Did it change how the truck drives? Is this typically done for the strength of the 17mm hex?

Yes, tire needs trimmed and outter bead on the wheel grinded down flat. Didnt change the way it drives much, except for me taping this set so they dont balloon. And, yep 17mm is stronger, no more stripped hex's.

How do the different proline tires work?
I want to buy new proline tires 2,8" to use on and offroad.
I buy them factory glued on the wheels.
Should i buy trenchers or masher? Or another proline tires? :-)

I have experience with street fighter, i think they got to mutch grip so its often roll over insted of slide on the road..
Witch should i buy when i not want so mutch grip and balloning like the streetfighter?
Want to use it on dry roads to speedruns and for bashing offroad.

The mashers won't let the truck slide. They will both balloon

The stock talons with thicker tire foams slide very well with less ballooning

From what ive heard trenchers are real hard to beat for shear performance. Im runnin 2.2 proline super swampers and i really like them but i dont have trenchers. Did u ever get that sideways pic thing figured out?

About my streetfighters? No it never slide but it got better handling when i lower the truck to the max and turn carfully on the remote, i never use this tires because when they are so balooned you can only drive straight forward.
If you have plenty of power and want extreme grip to only drive fast then proline streetfighter is good.
Cool looking tires, i think the rubber is to soft. Even on wet roads it got a good grip :-)

mostly a trencher for speed runs maybe venture into the 3.2" rim options since it will lower the tire profile to limit ballooning

You can tape the tires before gluing to help prevent ballooning! I have done this to my streetfighters mounted on jconcepts relux wheels and proline blockades mounted on split six beadlocks. I have very, very little ballooning with the streetfighters at high speed and none with the blockades

Imex 2.8 tires on revolver 3.2s 17mm adapters

the imex tires have the same bead as the revolvers so no trimming required ..
