I'd imagine with the increased lever arm it will put more strain on a lot of parts. What that will actually mean in the real world with regards to breakage and wear and tear I don't know.

The MIP'S 17mm conversion has 2 grub screws that tighten down on the flat/keyed sections of the mip X-Duty shafts. They probably would not work on the round stock shafts.

so I am going to run my mashers on the MT3 splits. I ahve some closed cell foams from the swampers I'll use this summer. Would you still tape the Mashers if you're using the closed cell foams? I think it'll just be unneeded weight but what do you think?

I would not tape them if you are using closed cell foams because you will have a shorter side wall and both these factors stop ballooning. And as you have said you are just adding more weight which will put more stress on diffs...peace

These are in another Thread but they would be a good addition here (as someone mentioned) .

Swappers front, Sand Paws rear (right side of truck) with the Ofna MT

White - Mashers front Sand Paws rear.

Offset difference - Swappers and zero offset Ofna's and Sand Paw on revolvers with stock Pede offset (though this is my Slash/Pede MT).

White - up close and nasty

Proline Streetfighters. Maybe they perform well on pavement when you tape them, but I never liked them myself on hard surfaces. Off road they seem pretty useless to me.

Sorry if this is not the correct place to ask. We have a street course set up in the backyard we're looking for a good Street wheel/tire set up. We are running the stock setup now which for the most part works well but under hard breaking the truck slides out of control and hard turn ins are obviously not that great. We are fully aware that the 4x4 pede is not a street machine just trying to improve it a little more for more fun.

On a Slash 4x4 a lot of people favor the Duratrax Banditos. They also come in 2.8" for the P4de:
    http://www.duratrax.com/tires/2-8monstertruck.html

Pro-Line just released the Prime 2.8". I'm going to give them a try whenever I feel the urge for some street fun...:

My stampede tires are jconcepts choppers and I like them but one issue I had is that my front tire broke in the actual wheel hex part. Other than that they are good. They came on rulux wheels and are 2.8 wheels.

Here is my wheel and tire setup for my Stampede 4x4. The wheels are Pro-Line Split Six V2 Black Wheels for 1/8 Buggies. The front tires are Pro-line 1/8 scale buggy Badlands, and the rear tires are Panther 1/8 scale buggy paddle tires. I've also ran those paddle tires on the front as well in snow with good results. This tire combo works well on most off-road surfaces, and the wheels are 17mm hex so no stripping worries, they are also super light weight so less stress on the drive train parts.

Might as well post my sets of shoes for my P4de.

These are JConcepts Rocx, 12mm, 2.2", 3015-3212 green-super soft on RPM 82232, Revolver Wide Wheelbase Wheels. This is for rock bouncing or non-scale U4 running.

Here are Pro-Line Badlands, 12mm, 2.8", 1173-00 M2 on Pro-Line Desperado Wheels 2729-03. For when the running is more aggressive.

    Here are the Pro-Line Gladiators, 12mm, 2.2"/3", 1169-01 M2 on Pro-Line PL Renegade wheels 2725-03. For a smooth track.

I prefer these Pro-Line Gladiators, 12mm, 2.2", 8170-01 M2 on RPM 82232 Revolver Wide Wheelbase Wheels. Fantastic stability on the track.

Yeah, I like the Rusty coat on the P4de but that's another thread topic!

No problem, glad you posted your p4de. I've been curious as to what a set of those look like on one. They look awesome, now if someone would just put them on a 2.8 wheel.

Trencher is the name of a tire, not a wheel. Wheels have hexes, not the tires.

    If you meant pre-mounted. No.

Pro-Line has a 17mm hex 2.8" wheel for the Trencher tires but you will have to glue the tires on yourself.

That has got to be Pro-Line Trenchers for sure. It's the do-all, master-of-none tire.

None. ... it 2 different worlds. Bashing ruins tires and speed needs tires to be in good shape, and cuts and they are done for. Get a nice set of bad lands for bashing. If they rip just super glue them.

Then get a nice set of street fighters or something smaller. Then when you feel like doing speed runs lower the body by adjusting the shock mounts.

You will be much happier doing it this way. Or just buy a set of the stock slash tires if you really wanna save cash. .. but the cheapest option is to run stock...

    Whats on there now?

I find that the JConcepts Choppers work pretty good for both. I've got some Mashers for real bashing, but if I don't want to change them all the time, Choppers are pretty good on both.

I agree. I have Choppers on mine and they aren't bad. They have them on sale on their web site for $12 a pair pre mounted. Hard to beat that price for a decent set of wheels.
