Yes, check the the latrax rally forum. One thread has a pic of it in the rally. The rally and Tetons chassis are the same. Most of us Teton guys are running castle syrups and others are using toros

Yes, the esc fits the stock holder perfect. I found that the chassis needed to be trimmed for the length of the motor. It has an area on the chassis directly under the stock brushed motor that needed to be extended in order to get the motor/pinion lined up correctly to the spur. Also a small part of the chassis brace had to be trimmed and can be seen in the photo and, of course, the motor mount has to be modified.

Here's mine with the system and battery installed.

It is a shame that the 3m will not push a brushed motor.

    Thanks for the info !
Would Velineon 380 torque too much with teton stock gearing?
I'm afraid it will destroy the ring&crown gear and driveshaft.
Should I change to latraxx rally gearing?

I personally think ANY gearing with the 380 is too "torquey"... realize that's a 1/16 scale motor you're installing into a 1/18 scale truck. Many of us Tetoners are having problems with 1/18 scale brushless motors chewing up diffs...snapping driveshafts and outputs...etc...i can only imagine what a 1/16th scale motor would do with to this truck...just my opinion.

I wouldn't be worried about the ring and pinion. The drive shafts and the rest of the diff usually go.

I don't think the vxl would be bad for the Teton. One thing to think about is the 4pole systems that everyone is installing are designed to be an upgrade to 1/16 vehicles. Generating more torque for heavier chassis. 2pole systems have worked well in similar chassis the like rc18 for a while.

For sure. I personally recommend using the 3m esc with a track star 6600 kv motor. I have one in my sst and it runs great. Gets close to 30 miles per hour. Of course if you are a speed demon and want to go like 60+ miles per hour with a 1 18 car get the vxl 380 motor with high gearing. If you do though be very easy with the throttle and brake.
