Hey everyone! I recently upgraded my 3906 Emaxx with EVX ESC to the EVX2 with LVD. I also just purchased a Kershaw Designs 700HO motor conversion kit with 25T Pinion.

while i await that upgrade, I am looking to purchase some better shocks for the truck. I have seen some people using 8th scale buggy shocks with success. I am looking to reduce bottoming out after big jumps and bashing.
I'm looking to have the MINIMAL amount of modification necessary. IE; I will buy brackets and mounts, but don't want to have to "dremel" anything haha. Can anyone recommend a good aftermarket shock solution that I can install to the stock chassis with minimal modification?
THANKS!
Yup I've been looking for a good set of long travel shocks also. I guess this is a big secret in this forum. What I have found is

well I went with some cheap finds on ebay. They are Ofna 1/8 Hyper 7 TQ front big bore shocks.
I was planning on going with Ofna LX2 1/8th scale buggy shocks, but they all included soft springs making them pricey after replacing each spring out the gate.
Anyone have any opinions?

Run away from the integy MSR5 shocks, they leak & are junk.
Ebay is your friend for shocks, you will need either FLM/RC Monster/UE shock towers to run a buggy shock set up correctly.
Pretty much any buggy shock you are going to buy, you will need to buy different springs for as your truck weighs more then a buggy does.
The UE SuperShocks are not cheap but they are well worth the money.
Look out for the tree/crunch!
LiPo? Naw NITRO!!
Okay great thanks for the info. I will be getting some LX2 shocks by OFNA soon and see which fit better, then I will find new springs from there. I will also keep my eye out for the UE supershocks and definitely stay away from Integy shocks... heard alot of negative things.
I went with some OFNA Hyper 7 TQ front shocks. very cheap alternative. Price was hard to pass up. We will see how they fare!
