"Summit" because it is unarguably the highest point in its class.

Same as ksb51rl for the same reason.

Same reasoning goes for the T or E-Maxx trucks, but Summit sounds better.
"Maxx" makes me think of discount shopping (TJ Maxx) a a feminine hygiene product.

Although "Teton" sounds good as well...

Like the Revo (almost sound like a dream "reve" in french, out of this world, apart), that name had stuck to me since I had seen it around 13 yrs ago.
    Summit, Stampede and slash next.
T-Maxx almost sounds like a discount store as mentioned and also confused with T-Rex once in a while (for people who don't know much on the traxxas brand)

I think of TMAXX a bit differently that's for sure...

For me TMAXX is like "Maximum Terrain".. It's the Max in offroading... etc...

I'm from Texas and I saw Texas Chainsaw Massacre young so the Slayer kinda made the top of my list
Slash is second, and Spartan is third cause I like ancient engineering

I think the coolest names are Revo and Jato, they sound exotic and somewhat military. With that, Traxxas RC names bug the heck out of me and for the most part are random mish-mash. There are a few that go together, T/E-Maxx, Revo/E-Revo, but what the heck is a 'Revo'? Jato, it is a name that makes sense for the truck, kind of; it stands for 'J'et-'A'ssisted 'T'ake 'O'ff, which even that is incorrect, it is done by rockets and not jets. I would like to see a common theme to the names, something that identifies what the RC actually is, something like:

I think it makes more sense to name the RCs power train...
    • Magnum 272 Drive Train (Bandit, Rustler, Stampede, Slash)
    - Give these one name, lets call them all "Slash"...
    - Slash = Slash SC (Short Course)
    - Stampede = Slash MT (Moster Truck)
    - Rustler = Slash ST (Stadium Truck)
    - Bandit = Slash B (Buggy)
I understand that 'Stampede' and 'Rustler' are rodeo/Texas names, but for RCs, they sound as silly and the Bandit's wing looks.

    • The New 4x4 Drive Train (Slash 4x4 & Stampede 4x4)
    - Give these one name, I like "Traxxas Razor" (Goes with the 'knife' theme)
    - Slash 4x4 = Razor SC (Short Course)
    - Stampede 4x4 = Razor MT (Moster Truck)
    - Telly = Razor TR (Trail)
    - I also like 'Traxxas Raptor', but there is already a 1/8 scale truck with that name.

    • The Revo chassis can work the same way:
    - Nitro Revo = Revo (just as it is)
    - Electric Revo = E-Revo (again, the same)
    - Summit = Revo TR (Again, 'Trail')
    • The 1/16 RCs
    - Do the same thing as above...

    JMHO...

@GreatScott wow!!! a lot of thought! but I have to say I somewhat agree with you. Especially on the random mish-mash names on some vehicles but hey I don't want to turn this into a Traxxas name bash thread lol

And your point goes back to why I like the "Revo" name...it's random but It isn't mish-mash like Blast or Alias...It's unique and mysterious in its own way.

Keep on campaigning, Greatscott. Maybe the ninth? twelfth? time is the charm. You are the Traxxas forum's Lyndon Larouche.

Edit: Lyndon Larouche, among many other things, campaigned in every Presidential election from 1976 to 2004.

Have no idea who that is, but just trying to make a product line I like better.

A name is just a name, if it was a RC I liked, Traxxas could call it 'Tinkie-Winky', of course I'd be more likely to replace the stock body sooner.

Besides, have you ever seen the poor schmoe that works at the LHS, who almost knows enough about RC to spell it, stumble and fumble over the Traxxas models when asked by a customer what the difference between them is? Its a lot like a train wreck, its a terrible thing to see, but you just can't look away.

    Back on topic...
I think the most aptly named model is the Summit. Although not a crawler (and never meant to be), its Revo suspension and locking diffs allow it to do some impressive stuff.

Well I certainly miss the Monster Jam line... Grave Digger to be exact, other wise Slayer because it sounds mean!

If that is the case then they all should be base off the transmission's original origin as an Traxxas Eagle (#1901) upgrade option which was later included in the Traxxas Blue Eagle LS kits in 91.

Edit. Very confusing but the Traxxas Eagle (#1902) came with the new 272 transmission. The Transmission part number was (#1920).

I figured "Revo" was just short for "Revolutionary."
When it was first released 10 years ago, it's inboard push-rod
suspension system was revolutionary in the RC world.

I think my favorite name would be the bandit. Just for the reason that was my first dogs name. Otherwise im at a toss up between the revo, slayer, and jato

LS-II, I always think is "Lone Star". It was designed in Dallas, so I like it.

    Revo just sounds cool.
And there he goes with the carbon...
