Is the cage made of 6mm aluminum? Or is it 8mm?

Whoa sorry guys. I had this thread subbed but wasn't getting notified of replies. No the cage is not aluminum. Some plastic composite or delrin. 3/8 thick. The bottom plate though is different. Extremely tough material. I can measure the wheelbase later when I get home. It's Def a hair shorter. I think it'll look better with bandit arms and wheels. Which I happen to have the arms and links on hand . Spoke with the main guy at billet works and he's working on a SC length one where the cage is 1/4in thick.

Got me some big bore front shocks on .

It looks more than a hair shorter than stock. Maybe an inch and a half? Next time you have the ruler out, give it a measure. I have always wanted a mini pede, and this chassis could be the answer.

You may be right on for a pede. Measuring a stock one at the same points comes to an exact ten inches. This is 8.75.

I'll measure wheel nut centers tonight. It'll be another 14hrs before I get home. I'll hold the arms level for it. But basically that changes with shock compression. Where I measured here is fixed and shows its pretty much exactly 1.25 inches shorter than a stock pede. The width is the same as a pede. Yes commando it'll be ran with no body.

In that pic, it looks like 9.5" to me. Is the tape measure up against the suspension arm???
Dont know if this is the "correct" way to do it, but I always measure nut to nut with the chassis fully loaded. This is where the wheelbase will be with a body on to match up the wheel wells.

Def looks killer too without a body 8)

The tape was a hair off my measuring points when I snapped the photo. But there's a cool app here on my phone so I can identify my measuring points. The back of the front a arm and very front of the bulkhead. Thanks for the compliments guys but billet works gets all the credit. Came mostly assembled and just take some time to transfer the stuff over. Stupid strong

With arms level and measuring nut center to center it looks like right on 9.25.

That looks like a very sturdy basher! I did the conversion and any 235mm body should fit (measure width of course) with ease. I may build one of these for my little bro since he wants a stadium truck.

Lunchbox wheel base is only 8". Might look OK with trimming.

Here's how it looks on my MERV (next to my original 1987 Lunchbox):

Sooo I had to sell that a couple years ago when times got tough. Very sad. Now things are going again and I bought another!!! This one came 100% unassembled. Zero instructions.. and it's not so cut and dry to transfer a bandit to it.
Or put it together from scratch for that matter. It's so easy to do a couple steps then boom you realize you have to take 6 bolts back out to put something in before that. Bleck. Bandit steering has the rack and this requires the stampede style right off the servo horn. Requiring me to make two front steer links (longer) and buy a pede style horn. I like it much better at this bandit width. For now the wheelie bar will stay because it rides it a lot. The weight is so much heavier in the rear I had to go to red springs. The chassis adds a lot of weight compared to stock.

Their site says they're out of stock and to check back later. I sent them a message 3 days ago and no response. I guess I'll try to call them later today?

How does it handle with that short wheelbase? I imagine it's a handful, but also a lot of fun?

Have you tried it with the rear slash rear arms? It might be a good compromise between bandit and rustler rear arms.

P.S. For anyone that happens to get one, there are build instructions on their website.

It is a handful, and a lot of fun. Here I have changed the whole purpose of it, more mad max "ish" and I like it better in this form. I have so many RCs that the thought of this appealed to me. A regearing down to 12/56 and the trx4 tires in the rear. Some random ones in the front I had that matched the theme. It's not set up for handling as it's pretty much point and ride wheelies! I run a shorty pack 2s because it's light and fits well. for now it has the personal touch and is done for me.
