Wow! That looks nice in there Squeegie. Stop giving me ideas. LOL
Just installed Stampede front and rear suspension arm guards (TRA6732/TRA6733):

Rear (needed to be modded to fit):

Great ; I love the guards, they protect the shocks, reinforce the arms and also protects the sway bar set ups.
Just curious I guess the lcg poses a problem beign lower so you had to mod the rear.
On the hcg I did not have to do anything.

As long as I was modding things, I thought I'd finish something I wanted to do for a while...
I ground two channels across the bottom of my battery hold down bar:
Why? This way I could zip tie my extra mounting bracket to my GPS cyclometer on it:
Now it is mounted and easy to read!

Done (for now):
Now I need time to tweek with the gearing and ESC Punch Control!![]()

What rear wing mount is that?
Do not take life too seriously, you won't survive.
The wing mount is part of STRC's e-Buggy kit:

I just finished my last mods:
1) shock valve kit and drilled out all 4 holes to 1/16",
2) changed my HR 6mm offset 17mm adapters to the 10mm offsets, and
3) got Castle's Field Link and changed my LVD to 3.5V.
All I need now is time to do gearing, punch control, and temp tests.
I have 20/50 installed right now.
Once all done and temps are low enough, I hope to install my Dusty Motors Shroud and run it in +100˚F ambient temp.
If not cool enough, I'll just leave it off.
Can't wait to get it all buttoned up and work on getting it dirty!![]()

That is the nicest GPS setup I've seen, nice job.
I have to get one of those little guys.

Built Ford Tuff With Chevy Stuff.
Thank you!
You would not like that GPS unit.
Why?
It only reads up to 65.9 MPH...

Your rigs go much faster then that!![]()

I noticed that too when I looked at their website. It only went up to 65.9. It's a nice looking little unit and your truck looks amazing.
Have you seen one of these?
They are made for planes, but would probably work in a car:
They now have their version3 units:

That looks compact and would probably work allright.
Hey squeegie , since no one wants my truck and I gave away my SC8 WP, I aam going to stick a MM2 in it, but still with the El Sob special and later maybe another motor when I get the rx box for the pede.

Glad you're keeping your truck and sticking around with us in this sub-forum!![]()

squeegie you have to make a video. I want to see this truck in action.
So do I!![]()

So far, only testing to see if it all works and some gearing/temp runs.
The problem is that I keep changing my setup so I have to keep testing.
This is my third setup!
I think this one is my final setup.
If all goes well with these gears and temp tests, then it's on to set-up my ESC's punch control.
Once all that is done, then it's time to bash and have fun!![]()

Nice truck! Could you link the warhawk stickers buddy?![]()
I don't remember the name of the vendor I got the decals from.
Back then, I just did a search for it and got them off eBay.
Sorry!

So how did you mount the guards together with the sway bars? ThX!
Fronts just screwed right on.
The rears had some work to do, but once cleared, they screwed right in as well.
See 20 posts earlier on post #164.

I need the time to run it.
I have time late at night to tinker.
I need time in the middle of the day to play!

OK, just got back from a quick test run with the new system:
MM2 w/ 2200kV on 6500mAh 65C 3S w/ 20/50 gears
Ambient Temp according to my weather app (˚F):
68 (RealFeel: 78)
Beginning voltage:
Cell1: 4.20 Cell2: 4.19 Cell3: 4.20
Temp (˚F) @ 0 min:
Motor: 73.1 ESC: 75.6 Battery: 74.8
Temp (˚F) @ 5 min:
Motor: 107.8 ESC: 92.8 Battery: 83.8
Temp (˚F) @ 10 min:
Motor: 130.9 ESC: 101.0 Battery: 94.1
Temp (˚F) @ 15 min:
Motor: 155.8 ESC: 103.4 Battery: 95.4
Soon after checking temps @ 15 minutes, LVD kicked in and stopped my run.
Ending voltage:
Cell1: 3.54 Cell2: 3.55 Cell3: 3.51
Max Speed (MPH):
40.7
On to some pics:
What do you guys think as far as temps and gearing is concerned? Ambient temps can and will reach over 100˚F in the summer. Just leave it, or back it down a skosh to 20/54?
Your advise/comments would be appreciated!![]()

If your resting voltages are in the 3.5s, then your LVC is set too low. This is why you are seeing the cell voltages diverging so much.
As for the temps, gear it down when you need to. It doesn't take very long to change a pinion or a spur.

Thank you.
Those voltages were immediately after my run.
It's been about 2.5 hours now and the voltages are now:
Cell1: 3.53 Cell2: 3.53 Cell3: 3.50
How can I set my LVDs higher?
I have a Field Link and the highest I can set it is 3.5.
I already have it set at 3.5V.
Creativity is intelligence having fun. -Einstein
I don't think you can set it higher than that. My wp-sc8 max. cutoff value is 3.4V. Under load the voltage drops so my Lipos are over 3.7v after the run.
Forgot to add... The surface was flat, short, and damp grass. That stuff was slippery! If I gave it full throttle too quickly, it would start to slide to the right. Had to feather the throttle to get to full speed.
Fun stuff!![]()
Creativity is intelligence having fun. -Einstein
Hmmm... Should I disable the LiPo mode and just run a LVA set to 3.7?
Creativity is intelligence having fun. -Einstein
Soundmaster sees 3.7 after a run with LVC @ 3.4.
I see 3.8 after a run with LVC @ 3.5.
Are you sure about your LVC setting? What's wrong with running both the LVA and having the LVC enabled?
