Help upgrading emaxx 3906 old style

Hey guys! I have an Emaxx 3906, the old style.

    I currently have:
    Stock dual Titan 550 motors,
UPGRADED to the EVX2 ESC with Low Voltage Detection.

I would like to upgrade my motor setup.

Should I go with a single 775 Titan?

Brushless Motor? If I go brushless, will my EVX2 esc work? What brushless motors work well?

Whats the difference between a dual 550 titan vs single 775? WHERE can i find the mounting plate for the 775 motor for my 3906 Emaxx? Thanks!!!!

    Brushless motors require brushless esc's.
Check out kershaw designs for motor options and mounting plates.
I'd go with the 820 over the 775

Here's a place to start.....Was looking at going with the 775 in my 3905 too. Till I pulled the motor out of the Summit and started to check things out. Would have to grind a lot of the top tranny mount out and, don't like that idea. It may be different on the 3906. Brushless would require some more upgrades on your rig, would stick to brushed. Be cheaper and can get brushed motors that will come very close to brushless output for near half the price.

Heres what I went with. The single 700HO with the motor mount that mounts directly onto the original mount. Il be going this route until it fails.

What would be the NEXT upgrade in line be? Dual 700HOs?

    Single Dewalt 820?

I was told that the single 700HO will pull alot more power and slightly more speed than the dual titan 550s which originally came on my 3906. Anyone agree? Disagree?

    Thanks for the input

I cannot comment on the motor's performance, but the pictured spur gear isn't going to work with the 3906's factory slipper clutch.

What do I need to make it compatible? @cooleocool

I guess i was misinformed. I was under the impression that the link I posted above would contain everything I would need for the conversion.

Best thing you could do is email Kershaw and ask them..... Sometimes pictures posted don't always represent the actual product Dan@KershawDesigns.com

I have spoken with him, I am under the impression it will work with the parts he supplies. All motor mounts should bolt on and work with the spur/pinion he supplies. We will see when it arrives. I already was almost certain it will work after talking with him. Unless someone has personal experience either way, I will simply wait for it to arrive before definitively assuming it wont or will. Cheers! I will update here later if it works properly or not. Thanks guys

If it comes with the pictured spur gear, the spur gear will not be compatible with the 3906's slipper clutch. The 3906's slipper clutch is not the same as the one found in the newer trucks. If the kit comes with the pictured spur gear, the easiest solution would be to buy Traxxas part number 4472. Compare that spur gear with part number 4472R, and you'll see the difference.

okay got it! Thank you! This conversion is specifically for the 3906 truck, so im hoping all will bolt in and the picture is just misleading. If not, il order the new spur gear!!! Thanks so much for the help! @cooleocool
